COATINGS FOR DAG PREVENTION
Techniques are disclosed for preventing formation of dags on cattle and other commercially produced animals. The surface of the animal, such as the skin, hide, hair, wool or other covering of the animal, is treated with a low-energy, non-sticking hydrophobic coating. The coating may be made from long-chain hydrocarbons, such as stearates, typically with a terminal metal carboxylate group comprising a variety of low-valence metals, e.g., mono or divalent metals, such as calcium, magnesium, potassium, sodium and zinc. The coating makes it difficult for polar substances, such as water, mud, dirt, waste, soil, manure and feed, collectively termed dag, to adhere to the surface of the animal.
Restraint Assembly For An Animal
A restraint assembly for an animal having a front anchor member, a rear anchor member and a coupling assembly. The front anchor member is configured to be secured to an animal through an interaction with at least one of a neck, a first front leg, and second front leg thereof. The rear anchor member is configured to be secured to an animal through interaction with at least one of a tail, a first rear leg, and a second rear leg thereof. The coupling assembly coupling the front anchor member to the rear anchor member in releasable engagement, to limit articulation of a body of the animal, sufficient to substantially preclude a head of the animal to rotate and reach portions of behind the head with a mouth of the animal.
No-bite animal guard
An animal guard comprising a sleeve with a guard section, intermediate section, and neck section, the guard section comprising a deformable mesh with a pair of snaps and the neck section comprising preferably cloth material terminating in a hem containing a drawstring to tighten the neck section around an animal's head, with the guard section overlapping the neck section in the intermediate section of the animal guard. The animal guard is designed to prevent bites from the animal while keeping the animal comfortable. The animal is able to be fed and watered while in the animal guard.
Animal Protective Recovery Collar and Neck Piece
A protective recovery cone collar for the head of an animal having a protective cone body with a first and a second opening, the first opening having a smaller size than the second opening. The protective recovery cone body includes an exterior textile layer, an interfacing layer coupled to the exterior textile layer, a cushioning layer coupled to the interfacing layer, and an interior textile layer coupled to the interfacing layer. The protective recovery cone collar includes a neck piece attached to the protective cone body having an exterior fabric layer, an interior cushioning layer coupled to the exterior fabric layer, and an interior elastic layer within the interior cushioning layer. Water-absorbent beads may further be included within an interior of the neck piece.
PROTECTIVE APPARATUS FOR A MALE ANIMAL
A protective apparatus covers the male genitalia of an animal, for example a dog. The apparatus includes a harness arrangement securable about a torso of the animal and a cage supported by the harness arrangement to at least partially surround the male genitalia of the animal when the harness arrangement is worn about the torso of the animal. The cage is resilient and self-supporting in shape, while including one or more openings therein sized to allow passage of bodily fluids therethrough. The apparatus prevents copulation and/or prevents animal access to wounds resulting from neutering of the animal. The self-supporting material of the cage ensures that the cage is supported in spaced apart relation with the male genitalia so that urine is less likely to be directed onto the belly of the animal during urination, while still remaining comfortable for the animal due to its resilient collapsibility.
Pet Apparel With Fasteners
A collar is provided for securing a pet's apparel. The collar includes fasteners on the underside that are used to connect to fasteners located on the pet's apparel.
Device for securely exposing an animal's ear canals
A device is provided to aid prevention and treatment of ear infections in animals. In an embodiment, the device comprises a first strip and second strip of material such as elastomeric fabric. Each strip defines first and second holes corresponding to an animal's ears. Each ear may be received by one of the holes defined by the first strip. Then, the ears may be folded over the first strip to expose the animal's outer ear canal. Finally, the second strip may be placed over the folded ears and secured to the first strip to maintain the ears between the first and second strips. Thus, in practice, the device fixedly exposes the outer ear canals to air flow to prevent the growth of bacteria and yeast and further aids cleaning and medicinal applications.
COLLAR FOR MOUNTING AROUND THE NECK OF AN ANIMAL
The invention relates to a collar (10) for mounting around the neck (8) of an animal (1), such as a dog, said collar (10) including i) a first part (20) with an inside for receiving the head (5) of said animal (1), said first part (20) having a flared shape, such as the shape of a truncated cone, and including a peripheral flexible wall (W) de-fining said flared shape, said wall (W) extending between a first opening (22) leading into said inside and an opposite second opening (24) leading into said inside, and ii) a second part (40) joined to said first part at said second opening (24), said second part (40) defining a sleeve for extending around said neck (8), wherein said peripheral flexible wall (W) including a recess (R) extending towards said first opening (22) and defining an enlargement of said second opening (24).
EQUINE CONTROL SYSTEM
There is disclosed a control device for an equine, comprising a hood adapted to be positioned over a head of the equine, the hood having a pair of eye openings to accommodate the equine's eyes; a retractable cup member mounted at least partially about the eye openings of the hood; and an activation device mounted on said hood so as to be activated by a rider of the equine to move the retractable cup member between a non-activated state and an activated state; wherein when the retractable cup member is in the non-activated state the retractable cup member does not substantially restrict the field of vision of the equine and when the retractable cup member is in the activated state the retractable cup member restricts the field of vision of the equine.
