High-low system for balers, compactors and transfer station compactors

The present invention provides an improved high-low hydraulic system for compacting machinery, such as balers, horizontal balers, compactors, transfer station compactors, and the like. The high-low hydraulic system comprises at least one double rotary pump, a plurality of directional control valves, a pilot-operated back pressure reducing valve, a flow control valve, a plurality of one-way valves, and a plurality of pressure switches. The high-low hydraulic system may be regenerative or non-regenerative and provides many advantages over conventional hydraulic systems. Such advantages include greater system efficiency due to a reduced back pressure during the time of the retraction stroke and clever flow sequencing, mitigation of hydraulic shocks at the beginning and end of compaction and retraction strokes, and reduced cycle time of the cylinder during operation due to the concurrent filling of the rod end side during decompression of the blind end side after the compaction stroke. Moreover, the present high-low hydraulic system allows for the cylinder to operate at three or more independent speeds. Additionally, the present high-low hydraulic system may also comprise an accumulator and pressure transducer that further assist with substantially maintaining a predetermined hydraulic pressure on the blind end side after the completion of the compaction stroke.

An electrohydraulic drive unit is provided, comprising a cylinder-piston assembly having a piston-side first hydraulic working chamber and a piston-rod-side second hydraulic working chamber, a tank, a hydraulic pump, which can be driven at variable rotational speed and which has a tank connection point and a working connection point, a valve assembly, which is connected between the working connection point of the hydraulic pump and the cylinder-piston assembly, and an anti-cavitation valve, which is connected between the tank and the first hydraulic working chamber; and a machine controller. Switching valves of the valve assembly can be switched between loading of the first hydraulic working chamber and loading of the second hydraulic working chamber of the cylinder-piston assembly during pumping operation of the hydraulic pump from the working connection point of the hydraulic pump by the machine controller.

The present invention relates to a servo hydraulic press for sheet metal forming. The press comprises a hydraulic cylinder, at least two servo motors and at least two pumps for supplying pressurized fluid to the hydraulic cylinder, where each servo motor drives at least one pump. The servo motors are operable at variable speed, and the first servo motor and first pump are operable in an opposite direction to the second servo motor and the second pump. With this arrangement, the servo hydraulic press may be operated at low speed without causing damage to the pumps or motors.

The present invention relates to an electro-hydrostatic system (1) with a hydraulic machine (11) which is driven by an electric motor (10) and has a variable volume and/or rotational speed for providing a volumetric flow rate of a hydraulic fluid, a differential cylinder (20) with a piston surface and with an annular surface, and at least one equalization container (30, 37), wherein the drive system (1) has a closed hydraulic circuit and during operation has an overpressure relative to the environment by means of the hydraulic machine (11) and/or a pretensioning source (15, 37), and the drive system (1) provides a movement of the cylinder in a first direction by means of a volumetric flow rate of the hydraulic machine (11) and a volumetric flow rate from the equalization container (30, 37), and provides a movement in a second direction by means of a volumetric flow rate of the hydraulic machine (11) and a volumetric flow rate into the equalization container (30, 37), and a power operating mode and a speed operating mode are provided with the differential cylinder (20).

Press machine and method for controlling slide of press machine

There is provided a press machine which can apply a large compression force to a mold as well as impart smooth vibration only in a rectilinear advancing direction to the mold, and thereby can improve the press-formability. A main slide and a sub-slide constitute a slide and at the same time a cylinder-piston mechanism. During press-forming, a compression force is transmitted to the sub-slide (an upper mold) through hydraulic pressure applied interlockingly with driving of the main slide, and the sub-slide is vibrated with the hydraulic pressure being periodically changed. Favorable press-forming can be performed even under relatively difficult press-forming conditions, by controlling the vibration such that a vibration frequency of the sub-slide (the upper mold) becomes 9 Hz or higher but 33.3 Hz or lower and a vibration amplitude of the sub-slide becomes 0.05 mm or larger but 0.5 mm or smaller.

The drawing press (10) according to the invention has for driving its ram (15) a directionally reversing gear mechanism (22, 54), for example a coupling gear mechanism, and at least one servomotor (23). The servomotor (23) passes through the reversal point (Ut) of the ram movement, which is predetermined by the kinematics of the coupling gear mechanism, for example the extended position of an eccentric drive. During the closing of the die (18), that is to say during a press stroke, the servomotor (23) is activated in such a way that it first passes through this reversal point (Ut), then stops, reverses and then passes through it once again, in order to open the die (18) again. Consequently, the braking to a standstill and re-acceleration of the servomotor for the upper ram (15) takes place while the actual drawing operation is still or already being performed, i.e. during the forming of the metal blank, which significantly reduces the cycle time.
