The invention relates to a precut blank (1) consisting of a foldable material such as corrugated cardboard, paperboard or carton for producing automatically erectable packaging, in particular, a tray. The precut blank has a bottom (3) and hinged to it, two lateral panels (4), a rear panel (6) and a front panel (5), as well as two connecting flaps (7, 8) hinged to the front panel (5) and two hinged to the rear panel (6). According to the invention, an unstressed elastic element (15) is fastened at the connecting flaps (7) that are hinged to the front panel. Further, the invention relates to packaging erected from the precut blank (1).

Method and apparatus for producing a twin-wall cup from paper or paper-like material including placing an inner cup with a sleeve and a base onto a mandrel, laying a flat segment onto an outer side of the inner cup, opposite to the mandrel, shaping the flat segment to form an outer jacket, which surrounds the inner cup, and fixing the outer jacket on the inner cup by means of a material engagement connection of outer jacket and inner cup, in particular by means of adhesive bonding, wherein at least one spacer is attached to an inner side of the flat segment and/or to an outer side of the sleeve of the inner cup before the flat segment is laid on the inner cup.

A method of making a container for consumer goods is provided, the method including: folding a first cellulose-based layer to form a package, the package defining a housing for the consumer goods; forming an outer wrapper, the outer wrapper including a second cellulose-based layer having an inner surface defining an inner area and an outer surface defining an outer area, a first polymeric layer provided on the inner surface, and a second polymeric layer provided on less than 30 percent of the outer surface, the first polymeric layer and the second polymeric layer being heat-sealable layers; wrapping the package with the outer wrapper, the wrapping being made so that the first polymeric layer is provided on an inner side of the second cellulose-based layer; and heating the package and the outer wrapper to seal the outer wrapper on the package, forming the container.

Apparatus for automatically attaching a decorative mask to an underlying tray, where the tray has apertures for the placement therein of customer products and the mask has apertures corresponding to those of the tray. The apparatus includes mechanisms for placing the masks and the trays along conveyor belts, for applying glue to the top surface of the tray for enabling the tray and mask to be attached, and sensing means for determining the respective locations of the trays and the masks to ensure precise registration of the apertures of the masks with the corresponding apertures of the tray.
