11571838 · 2023-02-07 · ·

A vehicle component that includes at least one fiber preform. The fiber preform includes a substrate, a fiber bundle having one or more types of reinforcing fibers, and a thread. The fiber bundle is arranged on the substrate and attached to the substrate by a plurality of stitches of the thread to form a first preform layer having a principal orientation. The vehicle component includes a core having a geometry with at least one edge and at least one the fiber preforms positioned along the at least one edge, the core and the fiber preform being overmolded in a resin. A process of making the vehicle component includes providing the core having the at least one edge, positioning the at least one fiber preform along the at least one edge, and overmolding the core and the at least one fiber preform in the resin.

A stitched fabric including a barrier layer; a yarn stitched through and forming stitch holes in the barrier layer, and a foam core formed over the barrier layer. A melted portion of the barrier layer fills at least a portion of the stitch holes. The foam core is prevented from progressing further into the stitched fabric by the barrier layer. As such, the barrier layer is configured to control a depth to which the foam core penetrates into the stitched fabric. The foam core may be formed over at least a portion of the yarn. A second foam core may be formed on a side of the barrier layer opposite the foam core.

Continuous filament cellulose nonwoven made with multiple bonding techniques

This invention relates to a nonwoven material consisting of one or more layers of nonwoven webs of essentially continuous cellulosic filaments, characterized in that within each layer each of the three bonding mechanisms: a) hydrogen bonding, b) filament intermingling and c) merged filament bonding occur for bonding the essentially continuous cellulosic filaments. Further it relates to a process for the manufacture and to various uses of this material.

A garment includes a first material layer including a first surface, a second material layer laminated to the first material layer, where the second material layer includes a second surface, and a laminate material disposed in a non-continuous manner between the first and second surfaces of the first and second material layers. An amount of laminate material disposed between the first and second material layers varies at different zones defined along the first surface of the first material layer. The laminate material can be applied via a dot lamination process so as to form an array of laminate dots that varies by one or more of spacing between laminate dots, dimensions of laminate dots and shapes of laminate dots at the different zones.

METHOD FOR PRODUCING A SHAPABLE CORE FOR MANUFACTURING COMPOSITE MATERIAL PRODUCTS, SHAPABLE CORE OBTAINED

The invention relates to a method for producing a shapable core (10) from a rigid panel (12), the plane of the panel being defined by the axes X and Y and the height H being oriented in the direction Z of an orthonormal reference frame, for producing composite material products, consisting in cutting the panel (12) to form core elements (16). According to the invention, the method consists in making the cuts (14, 34) along the axis Z, producing hooking means (17) on each of the core elements (16) cut in this way, so as to allow the core elements (16) to be connected to each other and to produce a hinge connection (22) with retention between the core elements (16) in the plane XY.

Aspects herein are directed to a moisture wicking and perspiration concealing knit spacer textile and garments formed therefrom that includes a first knit layer formed from yarns that have been treated with a durable water repellant (DWR) finish prior to being formed into the first knit layer and a second knit layer formed from yarns that have been treated with a wicking finish prior to being formed into the second knit layer. The first knit layer and the second knit layer are interconnected by tie yarns. When the textile is formed into the garment, the second knit layer is configured to be positioned adjacent to a skin surface of a wearer and the first knit layer forms an outer-facing surface of the garment.
