Method for producing a polymer coated metal strip and polymer coated metal strip produced thereby
A method for producing a polymer coated metal strip in a continuous coating line, including the subsequent steps of: laminating a thermoplastic polymer film onto at least one side of a metal strip to produce a polymer coated metal strip; post-heating the polymer coated metal strip to temperature sufficiently high to melt the thermoplastic polymer film to reduce orientation and crystallinity of the thermoplastic polymer film to target value; cooling the post-heated polymer coated metal strip; in-line illuminating the laminated polymer film with near-infrared light having one or more or all wavenumbers between 3500 and 9000 cm.sup.?1; in-line acquiring back-scattered near-infrared light with a near-infrared spectroscopy detector; calculating near-infrared spectrum from the back-scattered near-infrared light; comparing the calculated near-infrared spectrum to a reference material near-infrared spectrum to determine Conformity Index as measure of the laminated polymer film degree of crystallinity and/or molecular orientation.
BI-DIRECTIONALLY ORIENTED MULTILAYER FILM
A multilayer film includes: an inner layer system having a first surface and a second surface; and a first skin layer and a second skin layer bound to the inner layer system at the first and second surfaces respectively. The inner layer system consists of a polymer formulation (A) containing: ?60.0 and ?90.0 wt % of a linear low-density polyethylene A; and ?10.0 and ?40.0 wt % of a high-density polyethylene having a density of ?940 and ?970 kg/m.sup.3; and at least one of the first or the second skin layer(s) is a sealing layer comprising a linear low-density polyethylene B comprising polymeric moieties derived from ethylene and 1-octene/1-hexene, having a density of ?890 and ?915 kg/m.sup.3.
LAMINATED ARTICLE, PACKAGING MATERIAL, AND CONTAINER
A laminated article includes a substrate layer, a gas barrier layer, and a sealant layer. The sealant layer is located on one outermost side of the laminated article. The sealant layer is a resin layer containing poly(3-hydroxybutyrate-co-3-hydroxyhexanoate). In a crystalline melting curve obtained by differential scanning calorimetry of the sealant layer, the sealant layer has at least one top temperature (Tma) in a range of 130 to 160? C.
Elastomeric gel body gasket having a substantially incompressible skeleton, a method of making and using the same
Gaskets, including aircraft gaskets, are disclosed, the gaskets having an elastomeric gel body and substantially incompressible skeletons. The bodies may be pliable and deformable and, in one example, may be comprised of a two-part chemically cured polyurethane that sets up as a gel after mixing with the web so that it is fully integral with the web and so that there is substantially no air bubbles or air pockets left in the web. The web may be a regular shaped web and made of nylon.
Method for Making a Shaped Nonwoven
A method for making nonwoven fabric. The nonwoven fabric can include three-dimensional features that define a microzone comprising a first region and a second region. The first and second regions can have a difference in values for an intensive property. The nonwoven further has a plurality of apertures, wherein at least a portion of the aperture abuts at least one of the first region and the second region of the microzone.
Trim Part For A Motor Vehicle, As Well As Method And Device For Its Manufacture
The present disclosure pertains to a trim part for a motor vehicle that comprises: a carrier; and a decorative material applied onto an upper surface of the carrier, wherein the decorative material comprises a printed thermoplastic film; and wherein the trim part is shaped by a deep-drawing process and a grain or impression is produced on the visible side of the film, which faces away from the carrier, by the deep-drawing process. A method and a device for manufacturing the trim part is also proposed.
WATERPROOFING MEMBRANE WITH MINERAL BINDER COMPONENT
A membrane used in waterproofing, roofing and tunneling applications, the membrane includes a barrier layer including thermoplastic polymer component and a contact layer bonded directly to at least portion of the barrier layer, the contact layer includes a mixture of mineral binder component, thermoplastic polymer component, and surfactant component. Also includes a method for producing the membrane, a method for waterproofing a substrate, to a waterproofed construction, to a method for sealing a substrate against water penetration and to a sealed construction for sealing a substrate against water penetration.
Composite nonwoven felt for high draw mold areas
A nonwoven composite felt that is a dissipative acoustic insulation material that may be molded inside molds featuring high draw mold areas into acoustically insulating pads or sheets that provide good sound dampening characteristics and have no tears of thinning in the high draw areas.
Multilayered nonwoven fabric containing submicron fibers, a method of manufacture, an apparatus, and articles made from multilayered nonwoven fabrics
This document presents a novel method of manufacturing multilayered nonwoven fabrics consisting of submicron fibers, hydroentangled, meltfibrillated, and/or spunlaid web layers. The composite multilayered webs contain one or more submicron fiber webs placed between inner and outer layers of hydroentangled, meltfibrillated, and/or spunlaid web, forming a fabric that may be utilized in the manufacture of articles which serve as barriers, wipes or sorbent materials, or may have other potential applications. The created novel composite multilayered fabric may have increased loft, softness and bending length, may not be solely dependent upon an electrostatic charge to repel small particles and microbes, and may be formed from a broad selection of natural, synthetic, and recycled polymers, including petroleum- and plant-based, allowing polymer selection based on article lifecycle.
