ELECTRET-CONTAINING FILTER MEDIA
20220054961 · 2022-02-24 · ·

Filter media, such as electret-containing filtration media for filtering gas streams (e.g., air), are described herein. In some embodiments, the filter media may be designed to have desirable properties such as stable filtration efficiency over the lifetime of the filter media, increased normalized gamma, relatively low pressure drop (i.e. resistance), and/or relatively low basis weight. In certain embodiments, the filter media may be a composite of two or more types of fiber layers where each layer may be designed to enhance its function without substantially negatively impacting the performance of another layer of the media. For example, one layer of the media may be designed to have a relatively low basis weight and/or a relatively high air permeability, and another layer of the media may be designed to have stable filtration efficiency and/or a relatively high efficiency throughout the filter media's lifetime. The filter media described herein may be particularly well-suited for applications that involve filtering gas streams (e.g., face masks, cabin air filtration, vacuum filtration, room filtration, furnace filtration, respirator equipment, residential or industrial HVAC filtration, high-efficiency particulate arrestance (HEPA) filters, ultra-low particular air (ULPA) filters, medical equipment), though the media may also be used in other applications.

Fire retardant laminates including a textile layer, a protective layer, and a fire retardant are provided. The protective layer includes a porous membrane and a coating layer. The porous membrane is positioned between the textile layer and the coating layer. The fire retardant includes one or more phosphonate esters of the general formula: ##STR00001##
where n=0 or 1, R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 are C.sub.1-C.sub.4 alkyl, R.sub.3 is H or C.sub.1-C.sub.4 alkyl, and R.sub.4 is a linear or branched alkyl. At least a portion of the phosphonate ester in the fire retardant laminate resides in the coating layer. The fire retardant laminates are suitable for use in protective garments that provide full flammability and burn protection, even after exposure to flammable materials such as petroleum, oils, and lubricants. A method of rendering the fire retardant laminate fire retardant is also provided.

Laminated cloth

Provided is a laminated body, said laminated body being a laminated cloth the back surface of which has excellent properties against tangling and abrasion and good separability from the skin and which has a good texture and a favorable appearance and is comfortable to wear when made into clothing. The laminated cloth includes a front surface layer, a middle layer and a back surface layer, said layers being stacked one on another, wherein: the front surface layer comprises one member selected from the group consisting of a woven fabric, a knitted fabric and a non-woven fabric; the middle layer comprises a resin film or a non-woven fabric; and the back surface layer comprises a circular knitted fabric in which filament yarn of 60 dtex or less is used at least in part thereof and which is configured from knitting stitches and tack stitches, 9 to 72 said tack stitches being disposed per area of 12 wales×12 courses.

INSULATION ARTICLES INCLUDING CORROSION INHIBITORS AND METHODS OF PRODUCING THE SAME

Unique insulation articles including corrosion inhibitors and methods of producing the same are disclosed. One exemplary embodiment is an article of manufacture comprising an insulation mat comprising a cured combination of a plurality of randomly oriented fibers and a binder, the insulation mat extending between a first surface and a second surface, a veil attached to the first surface, the veil structured to inhibit physical movement of the cured combination through the veil, a metal sheet attached to the second surface by a water-containing adhesive contacting the metal sheet and the second surface, and a corrosion inhibitor composition deposited on the cured combination of the insulation mat, the corrosion inhibitor composition being effective to modify toward neutral a pH of the cured combination in contact with water from the water-containing adhesive.

CUSHION OR PILLOW HAVING EMBOSSING AND/OR DEBOSSING ELEMENTS, APPARATUS, SYSTEM, AND A METHOD THEREOF
20170233916 · 2017-08-17 ·

The present invention relates generally to a pillow or cushion having embossing and/or debossing elements, apparatus, system, and a method thereof. More particularly, the invention encompasses an apparatus and a method to create fabric cushion or pillow that can have embossing or debossing or a combination of embossing and debossing on them. The invention further comprises of embossed and/or debossed cushion or pillow, with or without cushion filler or insert. These inventive cushion or pillow can be used for both indoor and outdoor purposes. The cushion or pillow sizes can be standard sizes, but they can also be custom sized for any measurement. Embossing and/or debossing are the processes of creating either raised or recessed relief, image, or design in emboss-able/deboss-able materials. For example, an embossed pattern would be raised against a background, while a debossed pattern would be sunken into the surface of the material.
