A biaxially orientated polyester film has a P.sub.L/V.sub.L ratio of 0.3 to 1.2, P.sub.L and V.sub.L representing the average diameter of the convex portions and the average diameter of the concave portions, respectively, that are defined on the basis of a slice level with a height of 0 nm (reference plane) in a roughness curve determined for at least one surface using a three dimensional surface roughness meter, and the convex portions accounting for an area ratio of 30% to 51% of the reference plane. The biaxially oriented polyester film is excellent in travelling property, slitting property, and dimensional stability, and serves, when used for magnetic recording medium production, to provide a high density magnetic recording medium having a smooth magnetic layer, suffering little dimensional change due to variations in environmental parameters such as temperature and humidity or due to storage, and having good electromagnetic conversion characteristics with little dropout.

A multilayer pre-stretched plastic packaging film comprising: a core layer sandwiched between a top layer and a bottom layer wherein the top layer and bottom layer comprise at least about 95 wt % polyethylene, and the core layer comprises filler particles having a particle size of 0.1 to 20 μm in a polyethylene-based matrix comprising at least about 95 wt % polyethylene.

A concrete curing blanket includes an absorbent sheet having a wicking layer, super absorbent materials, and a tissue layer, which are laminated together to form the absorbent sheet. The absorbent sheet is sized for being spread over a curing concrete slab. A vapor barrier is bonded to the tissue layer of the absorbent sheet to inhibit evaporation from the concrete curing blanket, and includes a plurality of perforations.

The core layer is located between the metallizable skin layer and the sealant layer. These films may include one or more additives in any of the layers and/or include one or more tie layers. The multi-layered films may be biaxially oriented, have a haze equal to or below 5%, and have an elastic modulus equal to or below 350 N/mm.sup.2. The multi-layered films may also include a metallized layer on the metallizable skin layer, a coated layer on the metallizable skin layer, and/or be laminated to a polyethylene-based polymer, such as polyethylene terephthalate.
