METHOD OF MANUFACTURING A STRUCTURAL PANEL FOR AN ENGINEERING STRUCTURE
20170225428 · 2017-08-10 ·

A method of manufacturing at least one structural panel (20) for an engineering structure comprises conveying a layered structure (40) through a roller assembly comprising at least one pair of heating rollers (50) and at least one pair of cooling rollers (52), where the cooling rollers are at a lower temperature than the heating rollers. The layer structure comprises a thermoplastic foam layer 24 and at least one skin layer (22). The heating rollers 0 heat the skin layer (22) to melt at least part of the foam layer (24) adjacent to the skin layer (22) and bond the foam layer (24) to the skin (22). The cooling rollers (52) cool the layered structure (40) so that the thermoplastic resolidifies, retaining its bond with the skin to form the bonded panel (20). This approach greatly reduces manufacturing costs for structural panels.

PREPREGS, CORES AND COMPOSITE ARTICLES INCLUDING SYNERGISTIC AND COMPOUNDED FLAME RETARDANT MATERIALS
20170225429 · 2017-08-10 ·

Prepregs, core layers and composite articles comprising one or more flame retardant materials are described. In some instances, a thermoplastic composite article comprises a porous core layer comprising a plurality of reinforcing fibers, a first thermoplastic material, and a second thermoplastic material from a compounded flame retardant material comprising the second thermoplastic material and a flame retardant material. In other instances, a thermoplastic composite article comprises a porous core layer comprising a plurality of reinforcing fibers, a first thermoplastic material, expandable graphite materials and a group II metal hydroxide or a group III metal hydroxide.

Device and method for sound deadening a component

A device for deadening the sound of a component having a damping layer of a foamed material and a stiffening layer, which is fixedly connected to the damping layer and which is stiffer than the damping layer, wherein the damping layer is formed by a foamed hot-melt adhesive.

DOUBLE-FACED PRESSURE-SENSITIVE ADHESIVE SHEET AND USE THEREOF

Provided is a double-faced PSA sheet having excellent detergent resistance. The PSA sheet according to this invention comprises a PSA layer and is adhesive on both faces. The PSA sheet shows a push-peel strength of 30 N/cm.sup.2 or greater after a detergent immersion test involving immersion in a standard detergent at 40° C. for 24 hours. It also has an adhesive strength retention rate of 50% or higher, determined as the ratio of push-peel strength P2 after the detergent immersion test to push-peel strength P1 before the detergent immersion test.

PRESSURE-SENSITIVE ADHESIVE SHEET

Provided is a PSA sheet with which good air release properties can be obtained while whose quality can be further enhanced. This invention provides a PSA sheet comprising a substrate film and a PSA layer provided to at least one face of the substrate film. The PSA sheet further comprises a coating layer partially covering the PSA layer surface. The PSA sheet's adhesive is formed of the PSA layer and the coating layer. The coating layer has a linearly extending part running from one edge to another edge of the adhesive face. The linearly extending part has a first face forming the PSA sheet's adhesive face and a second face located on the PSA layer side relative to the first face. The second face of the linearly extending part forms an overall gently curved line in a cross section perpendicularly intersecting the length direction of the linearly extending part.

HEATING COMPENSATING ROOFING BOARDS
20170260748 · 2017-09-14 ·

A roofing board, such as a polyiso insulation board, includes first and second surfaces, where the first surface is lighter in color than the second surface. This allows the roofing installer to choose which of the surfaces to expose to the atmosphere, the lighter surface being cooler than the darker surface. The lighter surface may have a solar reflectance greater than the darker surface. A roofing membrane is then adhered or otherwise attached to the exposed surface.

Vehicle Interior Material
