FLAME RETARDANT CONTINUOUS FIBER REINFORCED THERMOPLASTIC TAPE
A continuous fiber reinforced thermoplastic (CFRTP) tape is disclosed, made of continuous, unidirectional glass fibers embedded in polyethylene terephthalate glycol modified (PETG) containing a polyphosphonate homopolymer non-halogenated flame retardant (NHFR). With formulations balancing the spread of flame and the detection of smoke, the tape achieves a Class A value when tested in accordance with ASTM E84.
Plaster boards having internal layers and methods for making them
Disclosed herein are plaster boards that include first and second layers of hardened plaster material, a liner attached to the first layer of hardened plaster material, and a first material (e.g., a polymer material such as a viscoelastic polymer) adhered between the liner and the second layer of hardened plaster material. The liner includes one or more structurally weakened regions each extending substantially from a first edge to a second opposing edge of the plaster board. The structurally weakened regions of the liner may facilitate creation of a fissure that propagates substantially within a plane within the plaster board. Methods for making the plaster boards may involve drying wet plaster material while it is in contact with a liner having structurally weakened regions, processing a liner to form its structurally weakened regions while in contact with wet plaster material, or processing a liner to form its structurally weakened regions while in contact with hardened plaster material.
SOUND ABSORPTION PANEL
In a sound absorption panel formed by stacking a plate perforated with a hole having a hole size smaller than a fiber length such as expanded metal, a honeycomb material, and felt-like fiber between the perforated plate and the honeycomb material, and joining the perforated plate, the felt-like fiber, and the honeycomb material to each other with an adhesive, the adhesive applied to the perforated plate is permeated into a surface of the felt-like fiber exposed from the hole to fix the fiber on the surface.
Laminates comprising reinforced aerogel composites
The present disclosure can provide an aerogel composite. The aerogel composite comprises at least one base layer having a top surface and a bottom surface, the base layer comprising a reinforced aerogel composition which comprises a reinforcement material and a monolithic aerogel framework, a first facing layer comprising a first facing material attached to the top surface of the base layer, and a second facing layer comprising a second facing material attached to the bottom surface of the base layer. At least a portion of the monolithic aerogel framework of the base layer extends into at least a portion of both the first facing layer and the second facing layer. The first facing material and the second facing material can each comprise or consist essentially of elastic fibers such as spandex, nylon, lycra, elastane, or combinations thereof.
LAMINATE SOUND-ABSORBING MATERIAL
A laminate sound-absorbing material that includes a porous layer and a base material layer. The porous layer is a fiber layer or comprises a microporous film. The mean flow pore diameter of the porous layer is 0.1-30 μm. The basis weight of the porous layer is 0.1-200 g/m.sup.2. The average sound transmission loss of the base material layer between 1,000 Hz and 12,500 Hz is at least 2 dB. The base material layer is arranged on a sound incidence side, and the porous layer is arranged on a sound transmission side.
Melamine Foam Sponge Cleaning Devices
A cleaning device for removing marks from a surface includes a body of melamine foam sponge having a front side and a rear side opposed to the front side, and a holding layer secured to the rear side of the body of melamine foam sponge to prevent relative movement therebetween. The holding layer is preferably a cloth and more preferably natural or synthetic chamois which can be used to wipe and/or buff the surface after rubbing the body of melamine foam sponge on the surface to remove at least one surface mark. The body of melamine foam sponge can be pre-moistened with a liquid such as a disinfecting solution.

Devices for a perforated, stacked-membrane insect bait station with a leak-proof bait reservoir
The present invention discloses devices for a perforated, stacked-membrane insect bait station with a leak-proof bait reservoir. Such devices include: a protective outer membrane for providing selective access to the bait station; perforations in the membrane, wherein the perforations facilitate easy insect-probe penetration for mosquitoes and other biting flies, and facilitate outward diffusion of volatile components of the bait station; a pierceable support layer for preventing inward water penetration and outward bait leakage via the perforations; an absorbent material for providing a reservoir for containing liquids in the bait station and for restraining bait fluidity; a liquid-based bait core for providing bait to the bait station, the bait core including a bait, an insect toxin, and a solvent, the bait core configured to be absorbed in the absorbent material and to be substantially in contact with the support layer; and a bait reservoir enclosure for housing the bait core.
SOUND ATTENUATING BUILDING PANELS
An acoustical ceiling panel including a first layer having a first major surface opposite a second major surface and a side surface extending therebetween, a second layer having a first major surface opposite a second major surface and a side surface extending therebetween, and a sealing layer having a first major surface opposite a second major surface and a side surface extending therebetween. The sealing layer may be positioned between the first major surface of the first layer and the second major surface of the second layer. The side surface of the sealing layer may extend beyond the side surface of the first layer and the side surface of the second layer.
Hybrid underlayment for non textile floor covering
A hybrid underlayment including a compliant material layer and a rigid material layer affixed to the compliant material layer. The compliant material layer exhibits a compression deflection as measured according to ASTM standard D-1056-14 in the range of from about 0.14 kilogram force per square centimeter to about 1.76 kilogram force per square centimeter, and a thickness of at least about 2 millimeters. The rigid material layer exhibits a thickness of at least about 0.5 millimeters and a flexural modulus of at least about 600 MPa and flexural strength of at least about 35 MPa in both the length and width directions, both flexural modulus and flexural strength as measured according to ASTM D790-17.
