The present invention aims to provide a staple reinforcement for a surgical stapler that can be used in surgical staplers of various sizes, is easily passed through ports, and is less likely to shift during operation of the surgical stapler. Provided is a staple reinforcement for a surgical stapler, including a fabric layer containing a bioabsorbable material and a sponge layer containing a water-soluble polymer, the fabric layer and the sponge layer being integrally laminated.

Films including a water-soluble layer and a vapor-deposited inorganic coating

Methods for making films including a water-soluble polymeric material and a vapor-deposited inorganic coating are disclosed. The method comprises providing a layer of water-soluble polymeric material and vapor depositing an inorganic coating to at least one surface of the layer of water-soluble polymeric material, wherein the inorganic coating comprises a metal oxide. The method further comprises forming a plurality of microfractures extending along the surface of the inorganic coating.

Biodegradable and/or home compostable sachet containing a solid article

A sachet product that includes a biodegradable and/or home compostable sachet comprising a front film and a back film. In some examples, the front film and back film can include a middle layer that can contain paper with greater than 85% cellulose and an inner layer that can include different material, including but not limited to polyvinyl alcohol or polyhydroxylalkonate. The sachet can include a compartment adapted for storing a solid article where the solid article is an open cell foam. The open cell foam can include a water-soluble polymer and a surfactant.

WATER-DISPERSIBLE AND BIODEGRADABLE FILMS FOR PACKAGING

The presently disclosed subject matter is generally directed to packaging film and packages constructed from water-dispersible and/or biodegradable material. The water-dispersible and biodegradable package consists of a first layer of a water-dispersible material constituting an interior of the package, and a second layer of a biodegradable material constituting the exterior of the package. The package may have printed indicium printed onto the exterior of the package.

A film structure includes a first outer layer system, a second outer layer system, and a core layer system. The first outer layer system includes at least one layer formed of a starch polymer thermoplastic bioresin. The second outer layer system includes at least one layer formed of a starch polymer thermoplastic bioresin. The core layer system includes at least one layer formed of a modified Polyvinyl Alcohol (PVOH). The first outer layer system, the second outer layer system, and the core layer system are compostable.

Dehumidifying element, dehumidifying device including dehumidifying element, and method of manufacturing dehumidifying element

A dehumidifying element includes a plurality of sheets that have moisture adsorption and desorption properties and that are stacked on top of each another. At least some of the sheets each have an irregular shape. The sheets each contain a hygroscopic agent having properties of a re-moistening-type glue that exhibits adherence when adsorbing moisture and that solidifies when being dried. The sheets are bonded to each other by the hygroscopic agent.
