A composite material contains a nonwoven layer (i) which contains fibers formed from a first thermoplastic elastomer having meshes with a mesh size in the range from 10 to 100 μm, and a membrane layer (ii) which contains a second thermoplastic elastomer and having a layer thickness of less than 30 μm. The membrane is either pore-free (ii.1) or is porous and has pores with an average pore diameter of less than 2000 nm (ii.2). The membrane (ii) is at least partially in direct contact with the fibers of the nonwoven layer (i) and covers the mesh openings in the nonwoven layer (i) at least partially. The fibers of the first nonwoven layer (i) and the membrane (ii) in the contact area are at least partly joined to one another in an interlocking manner.

Laminating apparatus and laminating method using same

A laminating apparatus that prevents partial protrusion of a film during pressing and ensures the uniformity of the thickness of a resulting laminate is provided. The laminating apparatus includes a pressing device for pressing a substrate and a film (a workpiece). The pressing device includes a press block movable back and forth, a pressing plate mountable to the press block, a plurality of heat sources (cartridge heaters) capable of heating the pressing plate, and a control system set up to perform heating control on the heat sources. The heat sources are arranged so as to be able to separately heat a central portion of the pressing plate and a peripheral portion thereof annularly surrounding the central portion.

HYDROCARBON ABSORBENT STRUCTURES
20220339602 · 2022-10-27 · ·

A method of manufacturing a hydrocarbon absorbent structure comprises providing a lower sheet of material and dispensing a hydrocarbon absorbent polymer mixture thereon. The polymer mixture is then preheated so as to at least partially melt the polymer mixture. An upper sheet of material is then provided onto the at least partially melted polymer mixture on the lower sheet of material. The lower sheet of material, polymer mixture and upper sheet of material are then laminated together to form a hydrocarbon absorbent laminate structure.

Apparatus for supporting debonding and debonding method using the same

An apparatus for supporting a process of debonding a carrier glass sheet and an ultrathin glass sheet. A suction plate includes a plurality of suction hole portions defining suction holes for suction-holding a glass laminate seated thereon and at least one recess portion defining at least one recess accommodating at least one device layer protruding from one surface of an ultrathin glass sheet of the glass laminate. A plurality of suction cups are fitted to the plurality of suction hole portions, respectively, such that the plurality of suction cups are elastically compressible, in response to contact pressure of the ultrathin glass sheet and the device layer. A vacuum pump is connected to the plurality of suction hole portions to apply negative pressure to the plurality of suction hole portions. A controller controls the vacuum pump to adjust the negative pressure applied to the plurality of suction hole portions.

A method for producing polymer coated steel sheet for 3-piece cans and 3-piece cans produced thereof.

Methods of manufacturing optically anisotropic polymer thin films

A method of manufacturing an optically anisotropic polymer thin film includes forming a composite structure that includes a polymer thin film and a high Poisson's ratio polymer thin film disposed directly over the polymer thin film, attaching a clip array to opposing edges of the composite, the clip array including a plurality of first clips slidably disposed on a first track located proximate to a first edge of the composite and a plurality of second clips slidably disposed on a second track located proximate to a second edge of the composite, applying a positive in-plane strain to the composite along a transverse direction by increasing a distance between the first clips and the second clips, and decreasing an inter-clip spacing amongst the first clips and amongst the second clips along a machine direction, wherein the high Poisson's ratio polymer thin film applies a negative in-plane strain to the polymer thin film along the machine.

Process for preparing a laminated glazing

A process for preparing a laminated glazing comprises providing a first glass sheet formed into a desired shape with a first thickness by a first procedure and providing a second glass sheet formed into a desired shape with a second thickness by a second procedure with an interlayer located therebetween, and laminating together the first and second glass sheets and the interlayer at a temperature and pressure sufficient to adhere the interlayer material to the glass sheets and in which the process further comprises applying a mould which is shaped substantially the same as the first glass sheet, against the second glass sheet, during laminating to adhere the interlayer material to the two glass sheets such that after lamination, the shape of the second glass sheet is substantially the same as the shape of the first glass sheet.
