COMBINE HARVESTER
20200178468 · 2020-06-11 ·

A fan unit for a combine harvester cleaning unit having at least two fan wheels, each fan wheel being enveloped by a fan wheel housing having at least one inlet segment and at least one outlet segment extending tangentially from the fan wheel housing, each outlet segment being connected to a common channel section and each vertical side wall of an outlet segment adjacent another outlet segment is inclined toward the vertical side wall of the adjacent outlet segment. This construction has as an advantage that it allows for improved flow characteristics of the air exiting the outlet thereby permitting better separation of MOG and grain in the sieves of the cleaning unit of which the fan unit is a part.

A hood assembly for a fan that has a base section, a discharge nozzle pivotally coupled to the base section, and a motor coupled between the base section and the discharge nozzle. Wherein, the discharge nozzle is repositionable with the motor to alter the orientation of the discharge nozzle relative to the base section

Auxiliary processing system

An agricultural vehicle includes a chassis, a threshing and separating mechanism supported by the chassis and configured for threshing and separating a crop material, a cleaning system positioned downstream of the threshing and separating mechanism in a direction of crop material flow, and an auxiliary processing system positioned downstream of the threshing and separating mechanism in the direction of crop material flow. The auxiliary processing system has an inlet and an outlet, and includes a discharge chopper having an end and a first direction of rotation about an axis of rotation. The auxiliary processing system also includes at least one rethreshing element coaxially aligned with the discharge chopper and adjacent to the end of the discharge chopper and having a second direction of rotation opposite to the first direction of rotation of the discharge chopper.

Residue handling system for an agricultural harvester

An agricultural harvester includes a threshing and separating system for separating grain from non-grain crop material, and a residue handling system for receiving at least a portion of the non-grain crop material. The residue handling system includes a chopper and a windrow arrangement, each having an inlet. A door is movable between a closed position which directs the non-grain crop material to the chopper and an open position which directs the non-grain crop material to the windrow arrangement. A feed roller is positioned adjacent to and between the inlet of the chopper and windrow arrangement. The feed roller is rotatable in a first direction which directs the non-grain crop material to the chopper when the door is in the closed position, and a second direction which directs the non-grain crop material to the windrow arrangement when the door is in the open position.

Crop processing apparatus in a combine harvester

A combine harvester having a grain pan arranged to catch a crop stream, the grain pan being driven in an oscillating manner to convey the crop stream rearwardly to a rear edge. A cleaning unit including a fan for generating a cleaning airstream which is directed under the rear edge. The grain pan includes a floor profile which defines a transverse profile comprising ridges and troughs. The troughs provide a plurality of longitudinal channels, wherein the ridge-to-trough height increases in the direction of conveyance. Crop material conveyed by the grain pan experiences channels that deepen towards the rear edge of the pan.

System and method for controlled cleaning in a cane harvester

A control system for a harvester having a primary crop cleaner for cleaning a cut crop, and a secondary cleaner for cleaning the cut crop downstream of the primary crop cleaner. The control system includes a processor, a memory, and a human-machine interface. The processor is configured to receive an input corresponding to a desired cleaning level of the crop, monitor an actual cleaning level, control the primary crop cleaner based at least in part on feedback from monitoring the actual cleaning level and including adjusting a speed of the primary crop cleaner to move the actual cleaning level of the crop during harvester operation towards the desired cleaning level of the crop, monitor an error between the desired cleaning level and the actual cleaning level during control of the primary crop cleaner, and control the secondary crop cleaner based at least in part on the error.

CLEANING SYSTEM FOR A COMBINE
20200137959 · 2020-05-07 ·

A combine grain cleaning system having front and rear rollers, a conveyor belt having an upper surface extending from the front roller to the rear roller, a motor operatively connected to the conveyor belt and configured to drive the upper surface in a belt travel direction from the front roller to the rear roller, and a baffle located adjacent the rear roller. The baffle has a leading edge, a trailing edge located behind the leading edge with respect to the belt travel direction and below the leading edge with respect to a vertical direction, and a baffle surface extending from the leading edge to the trailing edge. One or more sieves are located below the baffle, and a fan is provided to direct an airflow at least partially upwards in the vertical direction adjacent the rear roller. A method for separating grain is also provided.

WEED SEED BASED HARVESTER WORKING MEMBER CONTROL

A harvester may include a crop path along which crops are moved, a working member to interact with weed seeds moving along the crop path and a controller. The controller is to receive data indicating forthcoming weed seeds and is to output control signals controlling the working member based on the data.

CROSS VENTED RESIDUE DISPOSAL SYSTEM FOR AN ENCLOSED COMBINE BODY

A combine harvester includes a housing having a rear hood and defining an interior, a blower for generating an air stream in a substantially rearward direction, and a cleaning system separating residue from a crop material such that the residue is transported via the air stream rearwardly to be discharged from the housing. A chopper rotor assembly is disposed within the interior below the rear hood and includes a chopper rotor having a plurality of blades for chopping the residue as it is received via the air stream. A chopper housing is disposed within the interior and defines an inlet of the chopper rotor for receiving the residue and an outlet spaced rearward from the chopper rotor for discharge of the chopped residue from the interior of the housing. An air gap through which the air stream may exit the interior is defined between the rear hood and chopper rotor.
