A process for the production of multipage information leaflets or slips, the information leaflet provided with a booklet structure including two or more pages, the process including in sequence the steps of: loading and feeding of a ream of sheets printed on one or both sides, taking of a single sheet from the ream and gluing along an edge portion of the single sheet, multiple folding of the single sheet on itself along the glued portion to define a folded sheet, cutting of the folded sheet to define the multipage information leaflet with the pages connected one to the other only at a joining area in proximity of an edge, pressing of the information leaflet at the joining area, accumulation and collection of the finished information leaflets and optional rejecting of the leaflets which do not comply with the production specifications.

The invention pertains to a device for producing collections of sheet-like printed products from a supplied material strand, in which a switch feeds the product stream to a receiving cylinder via one of at least two collecting cylinders, as well as to a folding apparatus with such a collecting device.

Systems and methods for aligning preprinted images on a roll of substrate to the moving components of a web press are disclosed. A method in accordance with one embodiment includes determining the speed of the moving components of the press, determining the speed of the web of preprinted images and adjusting the speed of the web of preprinted image to match the speed of the web. In particular embodiments, a press which produces rolls of preprinted material can be modified to change the equivalent cutoff length of the press. In further embodiments, a method of pasting new rolls of material to expiring rolls of material is accomplished by modulating the drive speed of the new roll of material to match the expiring roll of material while at the same time aligning the images on the new roll with the expiring roll.

A drying device is provided between a cross-cutting device and an upstream first coating unit and/or the drying device is provided in the substrate path between the two coating units and the cross-cutting device. The web-format substrate can be cut into sheet-format substrate sections and, at the outlet, the substrate sections can be provided for subsequent processing or output to a delivery unit.

A printing press and a method for printing a printing material web wherein the change of the print image length and/or of the sheet length is possible in the shortest time. The printing press includes at least one first printing unit for at least one-sided printing of the printing material web with a first print image with a first print image length, at least one second printing unit for at least one-sided printing of the printing material web with a second print image with a second print image length deviating from the first print image length, and a cross-cutting means for separating the printing material web into sheets with a sheet length that corresponds to the first print image length or to the second print image length or to the quotient of the first print image length or of the second print image length and an integer greater than zero.
