The further-processing section comprises, in the guide path of a processing line through which the stock has run, at least one first combining device relative to the stock path, which can combine one- or multi-layer stock sections to a bundle; a second combining device which can combine the bundles formed by the first combining device to a bundle stack downstream of the first combining device; and a transverse folding device which is arranged functionally downstream of the second combining device and which transversely forms the bundles or bundle stacks relative to the conveying device on the input side when they exit the second combining device. A device for joining several layers is placed in the guide path, such that it can join several or all of the stock sections combined in the first combining device into a bundle, before they are received by the second combining device and is associated with, are arranged downstream of the first combining device. During production of the products, a combined bundle is stapled before it is combined with one or more other bundles and is then transversely folded. In addition, a longitudinal cutting device is provided in the guide path downstream of the transverse folding device.

A sheet processing apparatus including a stapler for executing a stapling process, a sheet detection sensor for detecting a sheet as a processing target, and an execution button for receiving from a user an execution instruction to execute the stapling process, after the sheet detection sensor detects a sheet, in a case where the execution button is pressed before a predetermined time elapses, causes the stapler to execute the stapling process according to the execution button being pressed, and in a case where the execution button is not pressed, causes the stapler to execute the stapling process according to lapse of the predetermined time. A device and a method for folding a print substrate web is disclosed. The device has devices for quarter folding and for cross-cutting the print substrate web for severing individual products as well as devices for cross folding. As viewed in the transport direction of the products, an arrangement for dividing the product stream is provided after a second quarter folding device, the arrangement conveying the successive products to a first and a second conveyor belt in an alternating manner.
