20190191629 · 2019-06-27 ·

An agricultural baler includes a main bale chamber having an inlet for receiving crop material. A strawhook arrangement includes a plurality of strawhooks and an actuation mechanism for moving the strawhooks between an open position wherein the inlet to the main bale chamber is open, and a closed position wherein the inlet to the main bale chamber is closed. The actuation mechanism includes a two-bar linkage and an actuator. The two-bar linkage has a first bar with a first end and a second end, and a second bar with a first end and a second end. The first end of the first bar is pivotally coupled with the strawhooks, and the first end of the second bar is pivotally coupled with a fixed structure of the baler. The actuator is coupled with the second ends of the first bar and the second bar. The actuator is operable to apply pushing or pulling forces to each of the second ends and thereby selectively move the strawhooks between the open position and the closed position.

Block baling press

A block baling press has a bale chamber and a baling ram moveable in the bale chamber in an oscillating manner to compress bale material. An end face of the baling ram facing the bale material is divided into ram segments separated from one another by needle slots. At least a first needle slot is flanked by ram segments with a profiling transverse to the first needle slot. The profiling brings about a weaker compression of the bale material in an edge region of the ram segments adjacent to the first needle slot than in a region of the ram segments spaced apart from the first needle slot. Bales are obtained in which zones of high compression and low compression alternate across the width of the bale chamber. The bales are held together by twine placed around the zones having low compression.

A baler is provided that includes a housing that defines a baling chamber and a plunger movable along an axis within the baling chamber to compress the crop material. The baler includes a first guide rail coupled to an exterior surface of the baling chamber and a second guide rail coupled to the exterior surface of the baling chamber. The baler includes at least one bearing coupled to the plunger to guide a movement of the plunger within the baling chamber. The bearing has a first bearing surface, a second bearing surface and a third bearing surface. The first bearing surface engages the first guide rail, the second bearing surface engages the first guide rail and the third bearing surface engages the second guide rail to constrain a vertical movement and a lateral movement of the plunger relative to the baling chamber.

In one embodiment, an agricultural crop baler comprising: a supporting frame; a pressing chamber configured to receive a stuffer, the stuffer compressing the crop into the pressing chamber; and at least one positionally adjustable side wall forming part of the pressing chamber, the side wall being supported by the supporting frame and configured to vibrate upon movement of the stuffer.

Agricultural baling machines

An agricultural baling machine including: a frame; a connection point for attaching to a towing vehicle; a plunger in a bale-forming chamber; a driveline for taking power from the towing vehicle and causing reciprocal rectilinear motion of the plunger in the bale-forming chamber; and a drawbar member that provides a mechanical link between the connection point and the frame. The drawbar member is rotatably coupled to the frame such that the height of the connection point relative to the frame of the baling machine is adjustable.

Agricultural baling machines

A mobile baling machine including a rotary input shaft connected by way of a driveline to a rotatable flywheel; and a drive converter that converts rotation of the flywheel to reciprocal rectilinear motion of a plunger, in a bale-forming chamber forming part of the baling machine, in manner forming plant matter in the bale-forming chamber into a compressed form; the driveline including one or more clutches for controlledly transferring rotary drive between the input shaft and the flywheel, wherein the driveline includes a transmission including driveline components defining at least first and second selectable transmission ratios between the input shaft and the flywheel; and wherein the baling machine includes or is operatively connected to one or more controllers that selectively engage a relatively lower, first said transmission ratio or a relatively higher, second said transmission ratio in dependence on conditions prevailing in the baling machine.

Crop baler with stuffer countermass

A crop baler with a stuffer flywheel mass for baling a crop, the baler comprising: a supporting frame that can be moved across a field; a crop pick-up configured to pick up the crop from a ground of the field; a conveyor configured to convey the crop picked up by the crop pick-up; a pressing chamber having a stuffer configured to compress the crop conveyed into the pressing chamber by the conveyor into a form of a bale; and a drive for producing a reciprocating movement of the stuffer, the drive further comprising a flywheel mass with a variable moment of inertia.

Assigning product information to an aggregation of bales of agricultural crop material

A baler is provided with binding material having identification tags at spaced intervals. A formed bale is bound with the binding material using a knotter system on the baler to obtain a completed bale. The identification tag is identified with a read module and sensed parameters of the crop material or bale are associated with the identification tag on the completed bale. A number of identified bales are then joined into the aggregation of bales. The identification tag for each of the identified bales in the aggregate is associated to the aggregation of bales. A person then could read a single identification tag of one of the identified bale in the aggregate which would then populate a characteristic field in the software for each identified bale in the aggregate based off the single identification tag that was read.
