BALING APPARATUS
A round baler having a baling chamber, a wrapping material reservoir, a feed apparatus having an actuator, the feed apparatus configured to convey a wrapping material from the wrapping material reservoir to the baling chamber, a cutting apparatus moveable between a retracted position allowing free movement of the wrapping material and an advanced position to cut the wrapping material, and a braking apparatus for applying a braking force on a roll of wrapping material installed in the wrapping material reservoir, and an actuator for controlling operation of the feed apparatus and the cutting apparatus. The round baler further comprises a tensioning element connecting the actuator to the braking apparatus to control a down force exerted on the roll of wrapping material and so control the tension in the wrapping material.
Double-tab baffle for an agricultural baler
A duckbill assembly of a wrapper for an agricultural baler. The duckbill assembly includes a frame, at least one roller movably connected to the frame and configured for spreading a wrapping material, an upper baffle connected to the frame, and a lower baffle connected to the frame and located underneath the upper baffle. The lower baffle has a width, a first set of grippers, and a second set of grippers. The first and second set of grippers are configured for spreading the wrapping material across the width of the lower baffle.
Baling Apparatus
A binding material storage apparatus including a rotary magazine for storage of binding material rolls, rotationally supported about a horizontal axis between two side elements. A magazine may be rotated between a number of discrete positions including a dispense position, each suitable for storage of a roll of binding material. The magazine includes first and second end plates between which support elements extend, one support for each discrete position, each of the supports mounted for free rotation within the magazine. At each discrete position a spindle is mounted for free rotation within the second end plate. An electrically controlled braking gear is supported on the second side. Each spindle is connected to an associated support and an associated first gear. The electrically controlled braking gear engages the first gear in the dispense position to control the speed of rotation of the support element in said position.
BALING APPARATUS
A binding material storage apparatus for a round baler having a rotary magazine for storage of a plurality of rolls of binding material, the rotary magazine being rotatable about a horizontal axis between a plurality of discrete positions, each discrete position being suitable for storage of a roll of a binding material and from which position the binding material may be dispensed. This allows an operator to have more than one kind of binding material ready for use, or multiple rolls of preferred kind of binding material ready for use.
BALE WRAPPING SYSTEM WITH PROPORTIONAL CYCLE ACCELERATION
A method of controlling a wrap system of a round baler includes determining a current characteristic of a supply roll of wrap material related to a current weight of the supply roll, and controlling rotation of a pair of spool rollers based on the current characteristic of the supply roll. As the current characteristic indicates a decrease in weight, the rotation of the pair of spool rollers is controlled to achieve a desired acceleration rate of the spool rollers, such that a leading edge of the wrap material is ejected from a nip formed between the pair of spool rollers at an ejection trajectory that is within an allowable angular range relative to a tangent of the nip, so that the leading edge of the wrap material passes through an access and into a baling chamber of the round baler.
Baling apparatus
A supply apparatus for supplying wrapping material to a wrapper inlet of a baling chamber, in which a bale is to be wrapped. A reservoir supplies the wrapping material to an upper driven roller forming a lower part of the wrapper inlet. The wrapping material is guided to the wrapper inlet from above the wrapper inlet. A displaceable supply unit is located between the reservoir and the upper driven roller, the supply unit being moveable between a baling position and a wrapping position about a pivot axis located above the wrapper inlet. A free end of the wrapping material outside of the baling chamber is protected by the displaceable supply unit from air turbulence during operation of the baling apparatus.
Cotton baler
The invention uses a new system which cuts and unlocks a wrapping material (PE film) for cotton in a continuous manner in cotton harvesting, and a new method in production of such film. The film consists of many segments that make many bales of cotton. The film is separated with perforation by laser or other methods. A double sided adhesive is used to glue the bale at the end of it, which is covered by a folded bridge. The bridge connects the both ends of the segments of the film. When perforated film is torn at a signal by the harvest machine, the bridge is unfolded as a leading edge for the next segment after a brief bridge linkage of both segments. The way of folding the bridge is key part of the invention, which accurately uncovers the end adhesive for the new bale and reduces the problem of tangling of the film at the time of separation.
Gathering apparatus for selectively bringing together a film at the sides for wrapping around a bale
A gathering apparatus for selectively bringing together edges or sides of a film for wrapping around a bale includes a pair of gathering elements which cooperate with a respective edge of the film and which are movable by a drive. The drive is actuated by a motor and a reduction gear. The gathering elements are moved relative to the film in a lateral direction between an out-of-operation position and an operating position, in order to gather the film as required. A holding apparatus serves the gathering elements in the operating position.
Agricultural baling system with controlled tractor steering to balance bale density
A method of controlling a travel path of an agricultural baling system including a baler and a tow vehicle includes: receiving a first bale density signal indicative of a first bale density of a forming bale at a first location in a baling chamber; receiving a second bale density signal indicative of a second bale density of the forming bale at a second location; receiving a windrow signal indicative of a width of a windrow; comparing the first bale density to the second bale density; determining a difference between the first bale density and the second bale density exceeds a threshold difference; and outputting a steering signal to a steering mechanism of the tow vehicle to adjust at least one steerable wheel of the tow vehicle by an adjustment when the determined difference exceeds the threshold difference, the adjustment being based at least partially on the received windrow signal.
