LIQUID EJECTING DEVICE
A supporting section is disposed to confront an ejection surface and supports a recording medium. A first tank is mounted on a first-tank mount section. A liquid conveying section conveys liquid to a liquid ejecting head. A receiving section receives liquid ejected from the liquid ejecting head. A waste-liquid conveying section conveys liquid to the waste-liquid tank. A first casing holds the liquid ejecting head, the first-tank mount section, and the liquid conveying section. A second casing holds the supporting section, the receiving section, the waste-liquid tank, and the waste-liquid conveying section. The first casing is connected with the second casing such that the first casing is movable relative to the second casing. The first casing takes a first position at which the ejection surface confronts the supporting section and a second position at which the ejection surface is farther away from the supporting section than at the first position.
Liquid ejecting apparatus
A liquid ejecting apparatus which includes an ejecting unit which ejects liquid, and a collecting unit which collects mist which occurs along with ejecting of the liquid from the ejecting unit from a collecting port, in which the collecting unit includes a backflow prevention unit in the collecting port. By adopting such a liquid ejecting apparatus, it is possible to suppress backflow of mist of the liquid from the collecting unit which collects mist of the liquid which occurs along with ejecting of liquid from the ejecting unit.
Image recording method and set
An image recording method including the steps of applying a liquid composition to a recording medium and applying an ink containing a pigment to the recording medium so as to overlap at least with a part of a region of the recording medium to which the liquid composition is applied. The water absorption amount of the recording medium at a contact time of 1 second according to the Bristow's method is 15 ml/m.sup.2 or less. The ink contains a compound having a polyoxyalkylene unit. The liquid composition contains a tannin compound.

WASTE LIQUID COLLECTION APPARATUS AND INKJET RECORDING APPARATUS PROVIDED WITH SAME
A waste liquid collection apparatus includes a waste liquid tray, a collection tank, a collection pump, and a circulation pump. The waste liquid tray includes a waste liquid receiving surface inclined downward to receive a waste liquid discharged from a head unit and allow the waste liquid to flow from an upper end to a lower end of the waste liquid receiving surface, and a waste liquid discharge part that is disposed adjacent to the lower end of the waste liquid receiving surface to discharge the waste liquid. The collection pump feeds a part of the waste liquid discharged from the waste liquid discharge part to the collection tank. The circulation pump returns another part of the waste liquid discharged from the waste liquid discharge part to the upper end of the waste liquid receiving surface to circulate the other part of the waste liquid.
INK-JET PRINTER
An ink-jet printer includes a conveyor, a carriage, a recording head, an ink receiver, a command receiver, and a controller. The controller executes: determining an ink amount that the recording head should discharge to the ink receiver; executing a flushing process that moves the carriage to an area facing the ink receiver and causes each of a plurality of nozzles to discharge ink of the determined ink amount; and based on the flushing process having finished, executing a recording process. The controller, based on the determined ink amount being less than a first threshold value, causes the recording head to discharge ink of the determined ink amount in a times of the flushing processes, and based on the determined ink amount being the first threshold value or more, causes the recording head to discharge ink of the determined ink amount dispersed in β(β>α) times of the flushing processes.
INK-JET PRINTER
An ink-jet printer including a conveyor, a carriage, a recording head, a power supply, an ink receiver, a command receiver, and a controller, is provided. The controller executes the steps of: determining a discharge ink amount that should be discharged to the ink receiver; raising a drive voltage to a first voltage when the discharge ink amount is less than a first threshold value, and raising the drive voltage to a second voltage when the discharge ink amount is the first threshold value or more; performing a flushing process; based on the flushing process after having raised the drive voltage to the second voltage having finished in the case of having raised the drive voltage to the second voltage, stepping down the drive voltage from the second voltage to the first voltage; and based on the flushing process having finished and on the drive voltage being the first voltage, performing a printing process.
Cartridge
Technology suppressing installation of a cartridge for supplying fluid and recovering waste fluid in a wrong orientation to a fluid ejection device is provided. The cartridge has a box-shaped case. The cartridge includes a fluid pack that stores a fluid and that is disposed in the case and a waste fluid retainer that is disposed beside the fluid pack inside the case. The waste fluid retainer is configured to hold waste fluid introduced to the case from the fluid ejection device. At least one corner of a side of the case on the side on which the fluid pack is disposed is beveled.
Liquid ejecting apparatus
A liquid ejecting apparatus which includes a carriage including an ejecting unit which ejects liquid onto a medium, and can move in a reciprocating direction, in which the carriage includes catching units which catch mist which occurs along with ejecting of the liquid from the ejecting unit on at least one side of the ejecting unit in the reciprocating direction, and the catching units include a fan which moves the mist from the catching units by generating an air current.
Liquid discharge apparatus
A liquid discharge apparatus includes a liquid discharger, a discharge receptacle, and circuitry. The liquid discharger includes a nozzle configured to discharge liquid. The discharge receptacle is configured to receive the liquid discharged from the liquid discharger. The circuitry is configured to control a flushing operation of the liquid discharger. The circuitry is configured to cause the liquid discharger to perform flushing to the discharge receptacle and a sheet to which the liquid is applied, with a first flushing amount and a second flushing amount different from the first flushing amount, respectively.
