Provided is a recording apparatus for recording on a recording medium by using a tray having at least two slot where a recording medium can be arranged, including: a reception unit configured to receive input of information for specifying a detection position of the recording medium in a slot of the tray; a specification unit configured to specify the detection position on the basis of the information for specifying; and a control unit configured to control the recording apparatus so that, in a case where the recording medium is arranged in a first slot corresponding to the specified detection position and no recording medium is arranged in a second slot corresponding to the specified detection position, recording processing is performed on the recording medium arranged in the first slot, and recording processing is not performed on the recording medium arranged in the second slot.

A printing system facilitates the printing of articles of manufacture. The system includes an array of printheads, a support member positioned to be parallel to a plane formed by the array of printheads, a member movably mounted to the support member, an actuator operatively connected to the movably mounted member, an object holder configured to mount to the movably mounted member, and a controller operatively connected to the plurality of printheads and the actuator. The controller is configured to operate the actuator to move the object holder past the array of printheads and to operate the plurality of printheads to eject marking material onto objects held by the object holder as the object holder passes the array of printheads. The support member and printhead array are oriented vertically to enable the printing system to be installed in a vertical cabinet that provides a small footprint in a non-production environment.

A recording apparatus includes a recording unit configured to perform recording on a recording medium placed at a first position, a placement unit configured to place the recording medium on the placement unit, and a pressing member configured to apply a pressing force to the recording medium placed on the placement unit toward the placement unit in a case where the recording medium is at the first position, and to release the pressing force in a case where the recording medium moves from the first position.

A printing apparatus includes a print unit configured to perform printing on the print medium held by a holding unit, the holding unit being capable of holding multiple types of print medium, a detecting unit capable of detecting the print medium and the holding unit, and a movement unit capable of relatively moving the detecting unit and the holding unit in a first direction and in a second direction intersecting the first direction. In addition, a control unit controls the detecting unit and the movement unit in a case where a first print medium is held by the holding unit, to obtain position information of the first print medium before the print unit performs printing and, in a case where a second print medium different from the first print medium is held by the holding unit, not to obtain position information of the second print medium.

A container body decorator (10) has a controller with a software stored in a memory. A plurality of ink jet print heads (108) is in communication with the controller. An endless image transfer belt (116) has a circumferential configuration with an inner surface opposite a printing surface. A method for treating a plastic surface to facilitate the adhesion of a coating. Specifically, the plastic surface is cleaned to remove surface contaminants. The resulting clean surface is then treated by a surface treatment, to thereby produce a treated surface suitable for receiving a coating. In some embodiments, the plastic surface treatment facilitates the adhesion of ink used in UV inkjet printing on plastic surfaces, including surfaces that are textured or irregularly shaped. In one embodiment of the invention, the plastic surface is a surface of a high density polyethylene (HDPE) plastic seat that is used for telescopic seating.

A sublimation printing production line for a workpiece having a cylindrical outer surface includes a sublimation paper loading station, workpiece wrapping station, a baking station, and a sublimation paper dismantling stations. The sublimation paper loading station has a workpiece conveyor belt and a sublimation paper conveyor belt that operate synchronously and in parallel. The method includes a first data processing step of acquiring first initial route data that represents, in a workpiece coordinate system, a route along which the head is to move; a second data processing step of acquiring first head reference point data that represents, in a robot coordinate system, position and orientation of the head; a third data processing step of generating, based on the first initial route data and the first head reference point data, first print route data that represents, in the robot coordinate system, the route along which the head is to move; and a first printing step of ejecting the liquid from the head onto the workpiece while the robot is operated based on the first print route data.
