Powdering on a front surface of a printed matter or the like is appropriately performed. A printing apparatus configured to perform printing on a medium includes: an ink ejection portion configured to eject an ink to the medium; and a powdering portion configured to perform powdering that applies powder to the medium. The powdering portion includes: a liquid applying device configured to apply, to the medium, a powder containing liquid that is a liquid including the powder and a solvent and an energy ray emitting portion configured to irradiate the powder containing liquid applied to the medium with energy rays. The powder containing liquid is a liquid that generates heat when irradiated with energy rays. The energy ray emitting portion irradiates the powder containing liquid applied to the medium with energy rays to evaporate the solvent of the powder containing liquid, so that the powder adheres to the medium.

A printer includes: a platen configured to allow a rolled first recording medium and a sheet-like second recording medium to be placed thereon; and a guide table detachably provided on a base member and configured to guide movement of the second recording medium. The platen includes a first platen on which the first recording medium and the second recording medium are placed, and a second platen disposed ahead of the first platen, including an upper surface tilted obliquely downward from the rear toward the front, and configured to guide movement of the first recording medium. The guide table includes a placement portion including a flat upper surface which is located below the first platen and above a portion of the second platen and on which the second recording medium is placed.

Card printing using thermal transfer print ribbon with radiation curable ink
11192387 · 2021-12-07 · ·

A thermal transfer print ribbon having radiation curable ink thereon is used to print on a surface of a plastic card. The use of radiation curable thermal transfer printing to print on the card surface increases the durability of the printing compared to regular (i.e. non-radiation cured) thermal transfer printing once the radiation curable ink is cured. As a result, a protective laminate or coating need not be applied to the card surface to protect the printing.

Ink Jet Recording Method And Ink Jet Recording Apparatus

An ink jet recording method includes ejecting a radiation-curable ink jet composition to a recording medium from an ink jet head, and curing the ink jet composition ejected to the recording medium by irradiating with radiation from a LED irradiator having a peak wavelength of 250 to 310 nm to form a cured coating film. The ink jet composition contains a polymerizable compound and an α-hydroxyketone-based initiator.

Three-Dimensional Object Printing Apparatus And Three-Dimensional Object Printing Method

A three-dimensional object printing apparatus includes a head unit and a robot. The head unit includes a head and an energy emission unit. The head has an ejecting surface on which a nozzle is provided. The head is configured to eject ink from the nozzle toward a three-dimensional workpiece. The energy emission unit has an emitting surface from which energy for curing the ink is emitted. The robot changes relative position and relative orientation of the workpiece and the head unit. When a direction in which the head ejects the ink is defined as an ejecting direction, the ejecting surface is located closer to an ejecting direction side, which is a side toward which the ejecting direction goes, than the emitting surface is.

Ink Set And Ink Jet Recording Method

A drying assembly comprises a plurality of electromagnetic energy sources arranged to dry printing fluid deposited onto a surface of a substrate, by evaporation of a solvent fluid therefrom. The drying assembly further comprises a conveyor system configured to move the substrate in a conveying direction, and a focusing system configured to focus electromagnetic energy from the plurality of electromagnetic energy sources to form a non-uniform heating pattern on the surface of the substrate. The non-uniform heating pattern comprises a plurality of spatially separated higher and lower intensity regions distributed along the conveying direction.
