Image forming apparatus

An image forming apparatus includes a holding body that holds a formed image; a transport unit that transports a recording medium in a state where a tip of the recording medium is grasped by a grasping portion; a transfer cylinder that has a substantially circular cross section, and that includes a concave portion that accommodates the grasping portion in a direction substantially orthogonal to a rotation direction and transfers an image on the holding body to the recording medium transported by the transport unit by interposing the recording medium transported by the transport unit between the transfer cylinder and the holding body; and an imparting portion that imparts a transport load to the recording medium that is transported to a transfer position at which the image on the holding body is transferred to the recording medium.

Printing apparatus with winding rotating drum

A printing apparatus includes a rotating drum which rotates by winding the printing base material around a circumferential side surface, and through which the printing base material is transported in the transporting direction; a recording portion which forms a printed image with respect to the printing base material on the rotating drum; and a driven roller which is positioned to be closer to a downstream side than the recording portion in the transporting direction, and rotates together with the rotating drum. The driven roller is disposed at a position for regulating a terminal position of the transporting direction in which the printing base material is wound in the rotating drum. The driven roller comes into contact with the printing base material at positions on both sides in a direction which intersects with the transporting direction of a region where the recording portion forms the printed image.

LIQUID DISCHARGE APPARATUS AND METHOD OF CONVEYING MEDIUM

A liquid discharge apparatus includes: a liquid discharge head; a conveyer that supports and conveys a medium; a blower that is disposed on the upstream side of the liquid discharge head or the downstream side of the liquid discharge head and suppresses the change of the posture of the medium by sending the air to the medium; a temperature adjuster that is disposed on the side of the blower opposite to the liquid discharge head in the medium conveying direction and adjusts the temperature of an object to a temperature higher than the ambient temperature of the liquid discharge head or a temperature lower than the ambient temperature of the liquid discharge head; and a blast controller sends an operation stop command or an air reduction command to the blower at a blast region-pass timing at which the medium passes through a blast region of the blower.

DIGITAL PRINTING MACHINE AND DISPOSABLE SPITTOON
20170106656 · 2017-04-20 ·

A digital printing machine includes at least one print head for inkjet printing, a drum for transporting printing material, and a spittoon for collecting ink coming from the print head. The drum has a mounting for the spittoon. The spittoon includes a support and an absorber fixed thereto. The absorber is quasi flush with the outer circumference of the drum, and the support and the absorber together form a replaceable disposable unit. A spittoon for use in a digital printing machine is also provided.

METHOD FOR AVOIDING COLLISIONS, FOR ADAPTING A SPACING AND FOR ACTUATOR-BASED LIFTING MOVEMENT IN AN INKJET PRINTING MACHINE

A method for avoiding collisions in a digital inkjet printing machine, a method and a device for actuator-based lifting movement of inkjet heads. A sensor/camera monitors the sheets as they travel towards the inkjet heads. In order to avoid collisions, the inkjet heads are raised and lowered again individually and in an oscillation-optimized manner when a defective sheet is detected. The machine does not need to be stopped in the event of defective sheets. Advantageously, rejects can thus be reduced and the performance of the machine can be exploited better.

Printed output of digital printing systems

An impression station of a printing system comprises a rotatable impression cylinder with an impression cylinder gap housing a plurality of grippers recessed therein. A pressure cylinder assembly comprises a pressure cylinder comprising a pressure cylinder gap and an angle portion joining a trailing edge of the pressure cylinder gap and an outer circumferential surface of the pressure cylinder. A compressible blanket is disposed around the circumference of the pressure cylinder. A margin insert is interposed between the pressure cylinder and the compressible blanket at least at the angle portion, such that a local external geometry of the pressure cylinder assembly at the angle portion is changed by the presence of the margin insert. The change in the local external geometry of the pressure cylinder assembly due to the presence of the margin insert is effective to reduce a dimension of an unprinted leading-edge margin.

A printing apparatus includes a supporting drum configured to support a medium, a printing unit configured to discharge ultraviolet-light curable-type ink, an emitting unit opposed to the supporting drum and configured to emit ultraviolet light, and an air blowing unit configured to deliver air to the supporting drum. The supporting drum includes a rotating body and a sealing member attached to the rotating body. The rotating body includes a shaft portion, a peripheral-surface portion around which the medium is looped, and a coupling portion configured to couple the shaft portion and the peripheral-surface portion. The peripheral-surface portion defines a first opening and a second opening that open in a shaft direction, the sealing member is attached to the rotating body so as to close the second opening, and the air blowing unit delivers air to an inside of the rotating body from the first opening toward the second opening.
