An agricultural baling machine including: a frame; a connection point for attaching to a towing vehicle; a plunger in a bale-forming chamber; a driveline for taking power from the towing vehicle and causing reciprocal rectilinear motion of the plunger in the bale-forming chamber; and a drawbar member that provides a mechanical link between the connection point and the frame. The drawbar member is rotatably coupled to the frame such that the height of the connection point relative to the frame of the baling machine is adjustable.

A mobile baling machine including a rotary input shaft connected by way of a driveline to a rotatable flywheel; and a drive converter that converts rotation of the flywheel to reciprocal rectilinear motion of a plunger, in a bale-forming chamber forming part of the baling machine, in manner forming plant matter in the bale-forming chamber into a compressed form; the driveline including one or more clutches for controlledly transferring rotary drive between the input shaft and the flywheel, wherein the driveline includes a transmission including driveline components defining at least first and second selectable transmission ratios between the input shaft and the flywheel; and wherein the baling machine includes or is operatively connected to one or more controllers that selectively engage a relatively lower, first said transmission ratio or a relatively higher, second said transmission ratio in dependence on conditions prevailing in the baling machine.

An agricultural baling machine includes a rotary input shaft connected by way of an input driveline to a rotatable flywheel mounted on a flywheel shaft; and a drive converter that converts rotation of the flywheel to reciprocal rectilinear motion of a plunger in a bale-forming chamber forming part of the baling machine, in a manner compressing plant matter in the bale-forming chamber. The input driveline transfers rotary drive between the input shaft and the flywheel shaft. The rotary input shaft is disposed at a lower height in the baling machine than the flywheel shaft, and the input driveline includes a transmission having driveline components that engage one another in a drive-transferring manner connecting the rotary input shaft and the flywheel shaft.

A baler for forming a pressed bale includes a baling chamber and a press mounted within the baling chamber. The press is operable in a bale formation cycle, where the bale formation cycle includes bale formation cycle parameters. A primary power source is operably coupled with the press to transmit a power to the press, and an auxiliary power source is coupled to the press. The auxiliary power source is operable in a power transmitting mode to transmit an auxiliary power to the press. A controller is electrically coupled to the auxiliary power source such that the controller is configured for controlling operation of the auxiliary power source. The operation of the auxiliary power source is operably controlled manually or by the controller according to the bale formation cycle parameters.

An agricultural system including: an agricultural baler with a bale-forming chamber; a plunger movable in a reciprocating manner within the bale-forming chamber for compressing plant matter in the bale-forming chamber; and a driveline for moving the plunger within the bale-forming chamber. The driveline comprises at least one bearing. The agricultural system further includes a control unit configured to: receive load-data indicative of a load acting on the plunger during operation of the baler; and determine a bearing-status-signal indicative of wear status the bearing, based on the load-data.

A crop baling implement includes a frame and a baling chamber attached to the frame. The baling chamber is configured to form crop material into a bale extending along a central longitudinal axis of the bale. An orbital support is attached to the frame rearward of the baling chamber. The orbital support is rotatable about a wrap axis and defines an open central region. The orbital support is positioned to receive the bale from the baling chamber and pass the bale through the open central region of the orbital support. A wrap roller is attached to and moveable with the orbital support. A drive is coupled to the orbital support and operable to rotate the orbital support and the wrap roller about the wrap axis to unroll wrap material around the bale as the bale moves through the open central region of the orbital support.

A baler including a flywheel driven by a PTO of a tractor, an input shaft which connects to the PTO, an output shaft which connects to the flywheel, an intermediate gear mounted for rotation between the input shaft and the output shaft, the intermediate gear being parallel to the input shaft and adapted to drive the output shaft, wherein the input shaft includes a displaceable geared collar adapted to engage the intermediate gear with either a first lower gear ratio or a second higher gear ratio. This allows the tractor PTO a lower ratio (speed) range to start the flywheel and then accelerate the flywheel to an intermediate speed before shifting and accelerating to the final desired operating speed.

An agricultural baler includes: a chassis; a plurality of wheels carried by the chassis; at least one electric wheel motor coupled to at least one of the plurality of wheels and configured to drive the at least one coupled wheel; an apron assembly including a plurality of chains driven by a plurality of rolls and configured to form a bale, the plurality of rolls including a starter roll; an electric drive motor coupled to the starter roll and configured to drive the starter roll; and an electrical power system carried by the chassis and having at least one battery electrically coupled to the at least one electric wheel motor and the electric drive motor.

An agricultural baler towable by a vehicle that includes a frame and a baler hydraulic system. The baler hydraulic system includes a plurality of hydraulically operated subsystems, a plurality of hydraulic subsystem lines being fluidly connected to the plurality of hydraulically operated subsystems, and a hydraulic manifold fluidly connected to the plurality of hydraulic subsystem lines and configured for connecting to the vehicle hydraulic system. The agricultural baler also includes an electrical processing circuit operably connected to the hydraulic manifold and configured for switching the hydraulic manifold for connecting at least one hydraulic subsystem line of the plurality of hydraulic subsystem lines to the vehicle hydraulic system.

A baler including a frame, a feed system coupled to the frame, a baling chamber, a plunger at least partially positioned within and reciprocally movable with respect to the baling chamber, a connecting rod coupled to the plunger, where the connecting rod defines a fluid volume therein, a sensor in fluid communication with and configured to send signals indicating the fluid pressure within the fluid volume of the connecting rod, and a controller in operable communication with the sensor and configured to determine the magnitude of a force being applied to the plunger at least partially based on a signal received from the sensor.
