In a high capacity baling apparatus concurrently formed first formed bales and second formed bales are discharged from respective bale forming regions to a discharge chute arrangement. The disclosed discharge chute arrangement comprises a first bale support surface, a second bale support surface adjacent to the first bale support surface and disposed at an angle to the first bale support surface, an impeller located at a downstream end of the second bale support surface and a displacement apparatus adapted to move between a first position at one side of the first bale support surface and a second position.

An agricultural vehicle includes: a chassis; a crop material handler carried by the chassis and configured to handle crop material; a communication interface carried by the chassis; and a controller operatively coupled to the communication interface and configured to: define a field map corresponding to a field; receive a bale drop zone input signal; define a bale drop zone within the field map based on the received bale drop zone input signal, the bale drop zone defining a location and a bale drop area within the field map; determine if the bale drop zone is sufficiently sized for a number of bales formed from crop material on the field to be placed in the bale drop zone; and output a drop zone insufficient signal if the bale drop zone is not sufficiently sized for the number of bales to be placed in the bale drop zone.

High capacity baler

A high capacity square baler including a pickup mechanism configured to pick up a single windrow of crop material off the ground. The baler additionally includes one or more stuffer chutes each configured to receive at least a portion of the crop material picked up by the pickup mechanism. The baler additionally includes one or more stuffer assemblies each configured to push crop generally upward through one of the stuffer chutes. The baler further includes a plurality of separate bale-forming chambers each configured to receive crop material from one or more of the stuffer chutes and to form a bale of crop material therein.

Rotor for a high capacity baler

A square baler including a pickup mechanism configured to pick up crop material from a single windrow on the ground, and a rotor configured to receive crop material picked up by the pickup mechanism. The rotor includes a first toothed section, a second toothed section, and an interior auger flighted section located between the first toothed section and the section toothed section. The rotor is configured to separate crop material into two streams of crop material.

A method of harvesting crop material includes capturing an image of a plurality of regions 28 of a field 50. The respective image of the regions 28 is analyzed to determine data related to constituent species of the crop material located within each of the regions 28. The data is associated with a region identifier 48 assigned to the respective one of the regions 28, and saved in a memory 42 of a computing device 30. The crop material in the field 50 is then harvested and formed into a bale. The harvested crop material formed into the bale is gathered from a subset 46 of the regions 28. A region identifier 48 of each of the regions 28 included in the subset 46 of the regions 28 is associated with the bale identifier 38, such that the data related to constituent species of the crop material included in the bale is associated with the bale and may be obtained by querying the computing device 30.

A square baler comprising a gear box configured to receive power from a rotating power source. The baler additionally comprises first and second drive shaft sections extending outwardly from generally opposite sides of the gear box. The gear box is configured to rotate said first and second drive shaft sections using power from the rotating power source. The baler further comprises first and second reciprocating plungers respectively coupled to the first and second drive shaft sections in a manner such that rotation of the first drive shaft section causes reciprocation of the first plunger and rotation of the second drive shaft section causes reciprocation of the second plunger.

The baler further comprising a plurality of knotter assemblies each associated with one of the bales forming chambers and each configured to wrap and tie securement lines around each formed bale. The knotter assemblies are configured to operate independently of one another, such that formed bales can be tied at different times.

A system for controlling the speed of harvested crop as it is discharged from a crop accumulator onto a field comprising a discharge mechanism for imparting a desired rearward travel speed to the harvested crop as it is being discharged from the crop accumulator and a speed measurement device for measuring forward travel speed of the crop accumulator. A processor is in communication with the discharge mechanism and the speed measurement device and is operable to adjust the discharge mechanism for imparting the desired rearward travel speed or the forward travel speed of the crop accumulator, to discharge harvested crop with a rearward travel speed that is substantially equal to the forward travel speed such that the harvested crop has a substantially net zero speed as it contacts the ground.

Baling apparatus and method including a baling chamber having one or more splitting knives for dividing crop material picked up from a field to discharge divided bales simultaneously from the baling chamber to be received by an ejection chute structure which ejects the divided bales in spaced relation to each other as the baling apparatus is moved along the field. The spaced relation can be longitudinal by ejecting the divided bales at staggered times and/or can be laterally spaced by turning the bales in the ejection chute structure.
