A printing apparatus includes a head configured to project a plurality of pins to perform printing on a printing medium, a carriage mounted with a head and configured to move, a roller mounted on the carriage and capable of coming into contact with the printing medium, a platen provided in a position opposed to the head and capable of moving in each of a direction in which the platen approaches the head and a direction in which the platen moves away from the head, and a pressing mechanism configured to press the platen toward the head. The pressing mechanism includes an elastic section configured to press the platen toward the head with an elastic force and a moving section configured to move the elastic section in each of a direction in which the elastic force of the elastic section increases and a direction in which the elastic force of the elastic section decreases.

In an example, a space adjuster may comprise a cam shaft, a first fin disposed on a first end of the cam shaft, a second fin disposed on a second end of the cam shaft, opposite from the first end, and a cam lug disposed on the cam shaft in between the first end and the second end. The first fin may have a first profile to transfer a first longitudinal force into a first rotation of the cam shaft, and the second fin may have a second profile to transfer a second longitudinal force into a second rotation of the cam shaft, opposite to the first rotation. A cam surface of the cam lug may be spaced increasingly farther away from a longitudinal axis of the cam shaft throughout the first rotation of the cam shaft.

An ink ejecting device includes: a head that ejects ink from a plurality of nozzles arranged along a Y-axis direction parallel to a direction in which a recording medium is conveyed; an X-axis moving mechanism that moves the head in an X-axis direction orthogonal to the Y-axis direction on the horizontal plane; a control unit that performs scanning in which the head is moved in the X-axis direction and that causes the head to eject ink during the scanning; and a Z-axis moving mechanism that moves the head in a Z-axis direction orthogonal to the Y-axis and X-axis directions.

An up-down moving mechanism includes a support member; an up-down moving member that is formed separately from the support member and can be moved up and down with respect to the support member; a screw shaft for moving up and down the up-down moving member; a nut member that is screwed onto the screw shaft; a guide rail that guides the up-down moving member in a vertical direction; a guide block that slidably engages with the guide rail; and a gas spring that includes a cylinder and a piston rod biased in a direction projecting out from the cylinder, and that biases the up-down moving member toward an upper side with respect to the support member. To the support member, the screw shaft is rotatably attached, the guide rail is fixed, and the piston rod is attached.

An inkjet printer including an inkjet head, a head scanning unit, a wave shape generating mechanism to deform a recording medium into a predetermined wave shape, an obtaining device to obtain information concerning a type of the recording medium to be used in a printing operation, a gap information storing device to store gap information related to a gap between an ink discharging surface and the recording medium in association with a predetermined type of the recording medium, the gap information being acquired from a predetermined range in the recording medium, and a correcting device to correct the gap information according to the type of the recording medium obtained by the obtaining device when the type of the recording medium obtained by the obtaining device is different from the predetermined type of the recording medium stored in association with the gap information, is provided.
Guide device and printer
A guide device includes a guide configured to movably hold and guide a moving-object, and a stay to which the guide is attached. The stay includes an attachment portion including an attachment surface to which the guide is attached, a facing portion facing the attachment portion, and an adjuster configured to change a distance between the attachment portion and the facing portion to partially displace the attachment surface. The adjuster includes an adjustment plate arranged between the attachment portion and the facing portion, and a push member configured to push the adjustment plate to move the attachment portion of the stay.

An ink ejecting device includes: a head that ejects ink from a plurality of nozzles arranged along a Y-axis direction parallel to a direction in which a recording medium is conveyed; an X-axis moving mechanism that moves the head in an X-axis direction orthogonal to the Y-axis direction on the horizontal plane; a control unit that performs scanning in which the head is moved in the X-axis direction and that causes the head to eject ink during the scanning; and a Z-axis moving mechanism that moves the head in a Z-axis direction orthogonal to the Y-axis and X-axis directions.

A liquid discharge device includes a liquid discharge head to discharge a liquid, a head holder to hold the liquid discharge head, a sub-carriage to hold the head holder, a carriage to hold the sub-carriage and move in a main scanning direction, an adjuster supported by the sub-carriage, and a guide to guide the sub-carriage to be movable in a vertical direction. The carriage includes a reference shaft extending in the main scanning direction, the reference shaft supports the sub-carriage via the adjuster and positions the sub-carriage in the vertical direction, the adjuster adjusts an inclination of the sub-carriage with respect to the reference shaft, the sub-carriage includes a sub-reference shaft extending in parallel with the reference shaft, and the guide allows the sub-reference shaft to move in the vertical direction while restricting a movement of the sub-reference shaft in a sub-scanning direction perpendicular to the main scanning direction.
