DEVICE FOR ADJUSTING A PRINTING HEAD
A device for adjusting a printing head includes a step-by-step switching mechanism, an actuator for shifting the step-by-step switching mechanism, and a locking disk supported for rotation. A first shifting tongue is provided for incrementally rotating the locking disk in a first direction of rotation. The first shifting tongue has two elongated holes for guidance purposes, one of which has a lateral recess. It is thus possible to adjust printing heads with a high degree of accuracy while saving time and costs. The device is preferably implemented in industrial inkjet printing.

An inkjet print module includes: a printhead having first and second rows of print chips, the printhead having 180 degree rotational symmetry about a print axis parallel to a direction of droplet ejection; a cradle for removably receiving the printhead; and control circuitry for distributing data signals to the printhead via first and second data paths of the inkjet print module. The cradle is configurable for receiving the printhead in first and second printhead orientations relative to the print module, the second printhead orientation being rotated 180 degrees about the print axis relative to the first printhead orientation. The control circuitry is configurable to invert distribution of the data signals between the first and second data paths.

A set of positioning parts (34-36) and positioning references (14-16) is provided that form part of or are connected to the print module (8) respectively the sub-frame (5). The positioning parts (34-36) are engageable with corresponding ones of the positioning references (14-16) for aligning the print module (8) relative to the sub-frame (5) when moved into its print position. The positioning mechanism comprises one or more four-bar linkage mechanisms (32) acting between the print module (8) and the first support unit (30).

Printing apparatus
A printing apparatus includes a printhead on a movable carriage; an operating unit operating by a driving force of a driving source; a transmitting unit being displaced by the driving force between a position where the transmitting unit transmits the driving force to the operating unit and a non-transmitting position; a movable member arranged on a moving path of the carriage; a restricting member being displaced, in coordination with a displacement of the movable member, between a position where the displacement of the transmitting unit is restricted and a non-restricting position; and a selecting member provided between the movable member and the restricting member. The selecting member is displaced between a position where the movable member and the restricting member are coordinated with each other by the selecting member and a non-coordinating position.
