20210284369 · 2021-09-16 ·

The present invention generally relates to a baling press for baling cotton gin trash and other particulate biomass feedstock. The baling press generally comprises an infeed chute assembly, a compression ram assembly, an extrusion chamber assembly, a strapping storage and dispensing assembly, and a strapping insertion assembly. The present invention also relates to methods of producing a bale with the baling press and a bale generated by said baling press and described methods.

Baler

A baler including a twine box having a frame and a twine cradle. The twine cradle is for holding one or more spools of twine and is mounted to the frame. The twine cradle is movable between a loading position and an operational position, by way of an intermediate position. In the loading position, a spool of twine can be loaded into the twine cradle. In the operational position, twine is removable from the spool of twine within the twine cradle in order to tie a bale. The twine cradle is movable between the loading position and the intermediate position by a rotational movement about a pivot that defines a horizontal axis of rotation. The twine cradle is movable between the intermediate position and the operational position by a translational movement.

Baler

A baler for agricultural crop has a pressing channel and a needle rocker pivotably arranged at the pressing channel about a rocker pivot axis arranged in a plane that is orthogonal to the longitudinal center axis of the pressing channel. A drive arrangement connected to the needle rocker pivots the needle rocker relative to the pressing channel. The needle rocker has tying needles that are moved through the pressing channel when the needle rocker is pivoted. The drive arrangement has a drive element, rotatably supported about a drive axis of rotation; a coupling device pivotably supported about a coupling pivot axis positioned stationarily relative to the pressing channel; and a drive lever with a first end eccentrically connected to the drive element and a second end connected to the coupling device. The coupling device is connected to the needle rocker spaced from the rocker pivot axis of the needle rocker.

Continuous Baler

A continuous baler having a movable section having an open mode and a closed mode. In the closed mode, the movable section is joined to a baling half chamber and a tying half chamber to form a baling chamber and a tying chamber, respectively. In the open mode, the movable section is moved away from the baling half chamber and tying half chamber, in order to allow passage of a bale formed in the baling chamber from the baling half chamber to the tying half chamber.

AUTOMATIC BALE STRAPPING MECHANISM

Herein described is an automatic bale strapping mechanism for dispensing, cutting, and securing strapping material around a bale of material being formed by a baling press. The automatic bale strapping mechanism can be an integral component or series of components to a conventional baling press. The bale strapping mechanism includes a draw and cutter assembly comprising a mobile draw carriage that draws strapping material a predetermined distance for cutting. The bale strapping mechanism can also include a dispensing mechanism which dispenses strapping material and an insertion assembly which carries strapping material through an extrusion chamber chute of a baling press. Also described are methods of automatically drawing and cutting strapping material.

An agricultural harvesting machine having a multiple stage compression system includes first and second compression systems. The first compression mechanism partially compresses the crop material in a compression chamber. The second compression system having first and second compartments each having at least one open end and positioned rearward of the compression chamber. The second compression system has a first position in which the first compartment is aligned with the compression chamber and the second compartment is operatively positioned with a second compression mechanism. The second compression system has a second position in which the second compartment is aligned with the compression chamber and the first compartment is operatively positioned with a second compression mechanism. The second compression system includes a binding system operatively associated with the second compression mechanism. At least one of the first and second compartments rotate between the first and second positions.
