Obscuring residual images on print ribbons
Techniques are described for obscuring residual images on print ribbons that have been used to print on plastic cards in order to prevent access to sensitive or personalized data appearing in the residual images. An image is printed on a retransfer film using the print ribbon, thereby creating a residual image of the printed image on the print ribbon. The retransfer film is then used to obscure some or all of the residual image on the print ribbon by transferring ink from the section of the print ribbon containing the residual image onto the retransfer film. In some embodiments, obscuring the residual image on the print ribbon occurs before the printed image on the retransfer film is transferred to the plastic card.
METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING A TABLEWARE ARTICLE HAVING A THERMAL-TRANSFER PRINTED PATTERN
A method for manufacturing a tableware article having a thermal-transfer printed pattern includes the following steps. Firstly, a PET resin composition including 3 to 15% by weight of an inorganic filler is provided. Next, the PET resin composition is granulated to obtain plastic granules. Then, the plastic granules are molded into the tableware article and the tableware article is post-crystallized. Finally, a thermal transfer printed pattern is printed on a surface of the post-crystallized tableware article.
Laser printing process
Printing process in which a substrate to be printed is disposed opposite an ink carrier having an ink layer, the ink layer being irradiated regionally by a laser beam, said layer accelerating by absorption of the laser beam in the substrate direction, wherein for laser absorption the ink layer is admixed with reflective particles and as soluble polymer having a weight average (Mw) molecular weight of greater than 250 000 g/mol.
Laser printing process
Printing process in which a substrate to be printed is disposed opposite an ink carrier having an ink layer, wherein the ink layer is regionally heated in such a way that bulges are formed in the ink layer, wherein the bulges contact the substrate and wherein ink splitting is brought about by relative movement between substrate and ink carrier.
OBSCURING RESIDUAL IMAGES ON PRINT RIBBONS
Techniques are described for obscuring residual images on print ribbons that have been used to print on plastic cards in order to prevent access to sensitive or personalized data appearing in the residual images. In some embodiments, obscuring the residual image on the print ribbon occurs before the printed image on the retransfer film is transferred to the plastic card.
Image producing device, transfer ribbon and image producing method
An image producing device that produces an image by thermally transferring an image pattern from a transfer ribbon to a transfer medium. The device includes take-up means for taking up the transfer ribbon, supply means for supplying the transfer ribbon according to the taking up of the transfer ribbon performed by the take-up means, thermal transfer means for thermally transferring an image to the transfer medium by bringing the transfer ribbon that is between the supply means and the take-up means into contact with the transfer medium, and a regulating means for regulating the supply of the transfer ribbon performed by the supply means.
Method of forming patterned metal unit, and patterned article formed with the same
A method of forming a patterned metal unit on an article. The method includes the steps of: providing an article that has an insulating surface; transferring a catalyst layer onto the insulating surface of the article, the catalyst layer including a catalytic material; removing a part of the catalyst layer to form a patterned catalyst layer; and forming a patterned metal layer on the patterned catalyst layer by an electroless plating technique to obtain a patterned metal unit that is constituted by the patterned catalyst layer and the patterned metal layer.
Method for protecting printed data
The invention relates to a method (400) for protecting printed data on a transfer film of a heat-transfer printer for a plastic card comprising a print head (112), the protection method (400) comprising: a first printing step (402) during which the transfer film and the plastic card advance simultaneously over a printing length L.sub.0 under the print head and during which the print head heats according to the text to be printed, a rewinding step (404) during which the transfer film is rewound over a rewinding length L.sub.0+/d different from the printing length L.sub.0, and during which the plastic card is brought upstream of the print head, a subsequent printing step (408) during which the transfer film and the plastic card (10) advance simultaneously over another printing length under the print head and during which the print head heats according to the text to be printed, and an ejection step (410) during which the plastic card is expelled from the printer.
Thermal transfer sheet
A thermal transfer sheet including a primer layer and a peel-off layer provided in this order on a substrate. The primer layer is allowed to contain at least one of: (1) inorganic particles derived from sol-based inorganic particles having a primary particle size of 200 nm or less, (2) scale-like inorganic particles, (3) a polyvinyl pyrrolidone type resin having a glass-transition temperature (Tg) of 60 C. or more, (4) a polyester type resin having a glass-transition temperature (Tg) of 60 C. or more, (5) a polyurethane type resin having a thermal melting temperature of 100 C. or more, (6) a resin formed by curing a thermoplastic resin having a glass-transition temperature (Tg) of 40 C. or more, and (7) a resin formed by curing a polyvinyl alcohol type resin.
