A thermal transfer sheet, which includes a transfer layer, is superposed on a transfer receiving article, and while the transfer layer is continuously transferred onto the article by a printer comprising a sheet supplying device, heating device, sheet winding device, measuring device located between the heating and sheet winding devices to measure the tensile strength of the thermal transfer sheet conveyed along a conveyance path, and release device located between the heating and the measuring devices, under conditions including an applied power for printing: 0.15 W/dot and a conveying speed for the thermal transfer sheet: 84.6 mm/sec., the transfer layer transferred on the article is released from a constituent member in contact with the transfer layer of the thermal transfer sheet, has a tensile strength measured by the measuring device of 0.1 N/cm or less.

SOLVING MEANS The main challenge thereof is to provide a transfer sheet that allows printing with a high printing density, which never causes a blur and a crushing of an image. SOLUTION There is provided a transfer sheet comprising a substrate, as well as a releasing layer and a hot melt colored layer in this order on the substrate, the hot melt colored layer comprising, as a binder resin, a (meth)acrylic resin having a glass transition temperature of not less than 75 C., and a colorant.

A method for forming a print obtained by transferring a transfer layer from which a removal region has been accurately removed onto a transfer receiving article and a method for peeling off a transfer layer by which a removal region of the transfer layer can be accurately removed. The method for forming a print comprises, by using a transfer film in which a transfer layer is provided on one surface of a support, a thermal transfer sheet in which a peel-off layer is provided on one surface of a substrate, and a transfer receiving article, a step of removing a removal region of the transfer layer of the transfer film by means of the peel-off layer of the thermal transfer sheet and a step of transferring the transfer layer from which the removal region has been removed onto the transfer receiving article.
METHOD FOR FORMING PRINT, THERMAL TRANSFER SHEET, AND COMBINATION OF THERMAL TRANSFER SHEET AND INTERMEDIATE TRANSFER MEDIUM
An intermediate transfer medium having a first transfer layer releasably provided on a support, a thermal transfer sheet in which a first colorant layer, a second transfer layer, and a second colorant layer are provided on one surface of a substrate so as being frame sequentially, and the second transfer layer is releasably provided from the substrate, and a transfer receiving article. The first colorant layer is used to form a first image on the first transfer layer of the intermediate transfer medium. The second transfer layer is transferred onto the first transfer layer on which the first image is formed, and then, the second colorant layer is used to form a second image on the second transfer layer. The first transfer layer is transferred together with the second transfer layer transferred on the first transfer layer onto the transfer receiving article to obtain a print having a stereoscopic image.

A thermal transfer sheet according to the present disclosure includes a first substrate and a transfer layer including at least a peeling layer, the peeling layer containing a resin material and antimicrobial particles, the antimicrobial particles having an average particle size in the range of 1 to 8 ?m, and the peeling layer having a content of the antimicrobial particles in the range of 2.8 to 8 parts by mass per 100 parts by mass of the resin material.
THERMAL TRANSFER SHEET AND COMBINATION OF TRANSFER FOIL AND THERMAL TRANSFER SHEET
The present invention provides a thermal transfer sheet that can accurately remove a transfer layer, and a combination of a transfer foil and the thermal transfer sheet. A thermal transfer sheet comprising a peel-off layer on a substrate, wherein the peel-off layer (i) contains at least a vinyl chloride-type resin and an acrylic-type resin, and a mass of the vinyl chloride-type resin based on a total mass of the peel-off layer is more than 50% by mass and not more than 95% by mass, or the peel-off layer (ii) contains a polyester-type resin having a number average molecular weight (Mn) of not more than 17000, and having a glass transition temperature (Tg) of not less than 50 C. and not more than 120 C.
Method and apparatus for printing a security card
The present invention relates to methods and apparatus for printing a security card. A security image is printed onto the receiving layer of a dye receptive reverse transfer film, which can then be applied to the card and bonded with the card. The printing of the security image occurs by transferring overcoat material from an overcoat panel of the dye carrying film onto the receiving layer of the dye receptive reverse transfer film in a pattern, which forms the visual security image. This process can be used in conjunction with the printing of a primary image by printing Yellow, Magenta, Cyan dyes and Black resin (YMCK) to the receiving layer in a reverse transfer printing method to provide a security card having a primary image and a security image. The security image printing may occur before or after the YMCK printing.

An intermediate transfer medium according to the present disclosure includes a substrate and a transfer layer including at least a receiving layer, in which a logarithmic damping ratio ?E determined by subjecting the receiving layer to rigid-body pendulum measurement at 70? C. is 0.10 or more.
