A method of forming a digital print on a surface by applying powder of dry ink including colourants on the surface, bonding a part of the dry ink powder to the surface by a digital heating print head such that the digital print is formed by the bonded dry ink colourants and removing non-bonded dry ink from the surface.

Printable recording medium

An example of a printable recording medium includes a base substrate, a first ink-receiving layer, and a second ink-receiving layer. The first ink-receiving layer includes a first inorganic pigment in an amount equal to or greater than 70 wt % and a first ink-fixing agent in an amount ranging from about 3 wt % to about 10 wt % based on a total wt % of the first ink-receiving layer. The second ink-receiving layer includes a second inorganic pigment. Both the first ink-receiving layer and the second ink-receiving layer exclude precipitated calcium carbonate.

Printable media and methods for forming an image on the same

A printable media including a carrier layer, a fabric layer and a first adhesive. The carrier layer includes a first surface having a first area, a second surface opposite the first surface, and a first rigidity. The fabric layer includes a third surface, a fourth surface opposite the third surface and including a second area, and a second rigidity less than the first rigidity. The fabric layer is secured to the carrier layer by the first adhesive bonding a first portion of the fourth surface to the first surface.

Article prepared by inkjet printing

An inkjet-printed article has an ink receptive medium with a substrate and an aqueous-based ink-receptive layer disposed thereon. The aqueous-based ink-receptive layer includes: (a) a water-soluble salt of a multivalent metal cation at 0.6-49 weight %; (b) one or both of a polyvinyl alcohol and a polyvinyl amine (or a copolymer derived from a vinyl alcohol and a vinyl amine) at 0.5-30 weight %; and optionally, (c) a crosslinking agent or (d) silica particles. The article also has an inkjet-printed image disposed on the aqueous-based ink-receptive layer, provided from one or more aqueous pigment-based inks, each of which has a) an anionically-stabilized pigment colorant; b) one or more water-miscible humectants at a total amount of 1-20 weight %, each of which has a carbon atom to oxygen atom ratio of at least 1.0:1.0 and only two hydroxy groups.

PROCESS FOR DEPOSITING MULTIPLE FLUID LAYERS ON VARIOUS SUBSTRATES
20210070064 · 2021-03-11 ·

Provided herein are methods for printing an image on a substrate using various methods of deposition in a single process. The methods may comprise a base layer application step wherein a base layer is applied to a portion of the substrate using a valve jet, or an inkjet printhead and a graphical application step wherein one or more ink layers are applied to a portion of the substrate (e.g., using an inkjet or a valve jet). Advantageously, the base layer may be applied only to substantially the same portion of the substrate as the one or more ink layers. The methods may further comprise a top coating step wherein a topcoat is applied to the printed portion of the substrate using a valve jet or an inkjet printhead.

Fabric print media

The present disclosure is drawn to a fabric print medium including a fabric substrate, a primary coating layer, and a secondary coating layer. The fabric substrate can have a first side and a second side. The primary coating layer can be applied to the first side of the fabric substrate at a thickness from 2 m to 250 m with a dry coat weight ranging from about 5 gsm to about 300 gsm and can include a polymeric binder and filler particles. The secondary coating layer can be applied to the primary coating layer at a thickness from 1 m to 50 m with a dry coat weight ranging from 0.5 gsm to 50 gsm and can include a first crosslinked polymeric network and a second crosslinked polymeric network. The primary coating layer can be two or more times thicker than the secondary coating layer.
