A laminate comprising a substrate layer (A) and a porous layer (B), wherein the porous layer (B) comprises a thermoplastic resin and a filler, the filler comprises a filler having a hydrophobized surface, as a part thereof, and the porous layer (B) has a liquid-absorptive capacity of 10 to 40 cc/m.sup.2 as measured in accordance with JIS P 8140:1998 with a 70 mass % ethanol aqueous solution.

Method for manufacturing panels having a decorative surface
A method is provided for manufacturing a printed paper layer. The method may involve providing the paper layer with a printed pattern. Providing the printed pattern may involve depositing water based inks using a digital inkjet printer. The water based inks may be pigment containing inks. The dry weight of the deposited pigment containing inks may be lower than 9 grams per square meter. The paper layer may include an inkjet receiver coating, such that the inks are deposited on the inkjet receiver coating. The paper layer may have a mean air resistance according to the Gurley method (Tappi T460) of below 30 seconds.
Systems, methods, and articles of manufacture for time-dependent color-changing article
Disclosed embodiments may relate to a time-dependent color-changing label for a product. The label may include a first layer comprising a plurality of particles, the particles comprising a time dependent color-changing material that changes color after a predetermined time period, the predetermined time period being greater than one month. The label may also include an attachment structure attaching the first layer to the product. In certain embodiments, the first layer may include a polymer, and the particles may include glass microspheres containing the time-dependent color changing material. The particles may be embedded in the polymer.
Inkjet Printing Methods and Inkjet Printing Systems
A grayscale inkjet printing method including the steps of: a) supplying a pigmented inkjet ink to a grayscale print head having nozzles with an outer nozzle surface area smaller than 500 μm.sup.2 and having an acoustic resonance period ARP of not more than 5.5 μs; and b) applying a voltage wave form for ejecting pigmented inkjet ink from a nozzle of the grayscale print head within one jetting cycle; wherein the pigmented inkjet ink has a viscosity of at least 3.8 mPa.Math.s at jetting temperature and a shear rate of 1,000 s.sup.−1; wherein the voltage wave form for ejecting the largest ink droplet includes, in chronological order, a first ejecting pulse having an amplitude A1 and a second ejecting pulse having an amplitude A3 with the amplitude A1 complying with the relationship: 0.50×A3<A1<1.40×A3; and wherein a time period between the end time of the first ejecting pulse and the end time of the second ejecting pulse defines an idle time period including no other ejecting pulse, the time period having a duration between 1.5 to 2.5 times the acoustic resonance period ARP; and wherein any non-ejecting pulse having an amplitude A2 present during the idle time period complies with the relationship: A2≤0.15×A3. An inkjet printing system is also disclosed.
Method for producing a pigmented polymer material
Provided is a method for dyeing a polymer material with an aqueous pigment composition containing at least one pigment dispersed therein, wherein the polymer material is a blend including a first polymer composition and a second polymer composition which is compatible with the first polymer composition, which second polymer composition includes a binding agent for the at least one pigment. The method includes the steps of heating the polymer material to an activation temperature below the softening temperature of the polymer material, contacting the polymer material with the aqueous pigment composition at a contact temperature for a period of time sufficient to form a pigmented polymer material, subjecting the pigmented polymer material to a fixation step to fixate the at least one pigment therein by cooling the pigmented polymer material to a fixation temperature which is lower than the temperature at which contacting of the polymer material with the aqueous pigment composition is carried out.

The present disclosure is drawn to coated print media, a method of preparing print media, and a printing system. The coated print media can comprise a substrate and a coating applied to the substrate. The coating can include, by dry weight, 5 wt % to 60 wt % of a polymeric binder having a Tg below 50 C, 10 wt % to 60 wt % of cationic latex having a Tg from 50 C to 130 C, 5 wt % to 30 wt % of a multivalent cationic salt, and 2 wt % to 25 wt % of a high density polyethylene wax.

A decorative paper layer may include a base paper layer, an inkjet receiver coating and a pattern formed thereon by digitally applying inks from a set of a plurality of differently colored inks. At least one of the inks may include color pigments having an average particle diameter larger than 150. The inkjet receiver coating may include silica pigments, in which the silica particles are particles of precipitated silica and/or silica gel and/or have an average particle size which is at least 4 times larger than the average particle diameter of the color pigments and/or have an average particle size of 1 to 40 micrometer.
