Sublimation transfer paper with coating, and method for making same
10464364 · 2019-11-05 · ·

A novel sublimation transfer paper is disclosed that incorporates a disclosed sublimation coating via a disclosed process for manufacturing the novel sublimation transfer paper. The novel sublimation transfer paper allows for consistent blooms for the sublimation inks, which leads to consistency of color. The novel sublimation paper also exhibits less cockling, which allows print heads to be closer to the novel sublimation transfer paper leading to the possibility of better print detail and the consumption of less ink. The novel sublimation transfer paper disclosed can be printed using sublimation dispersible inks having a water, oil, or solvent base with the substantially the same resulting color quality regardless of the ink base utilized.

PRIMER COMPOSITIONS

The present disclosure is drawn to primer compositions, which can include a binder including polyvinyl alcohol, starch nanoparticles, and a crosslinkable polyurethane dispersion. The primer competitions can also include a cationic salt and water.

The present invention relates to a multi-layer shrink film comprising at least one shrink base layer and an inkjet printable layer, the latter comprising at least one cellulose-based binding agent, to methods of making such a multi-layer shrink film and of providing graphical information by means of such a multi-layer shrink film, to articles provided with such a multi-layer shrink film as well as to the use of a particular cellulose-based binding agent in the inkjet printable layer of an inkjet printable shrink film.

STAMPING PRINTING PROCESS BY IMAGE TRANSFER WITH SPECIALLY COATED PAPER AND SUBLIMATION INK
20190291494 · 2019-09-26 ·

The present invention is a press-printing method for image transfer with a specially coated paper and sublimation ink, in which a pattern or image is printed on a paper coated with the special coating for subsequent transfer to the object to be printed. When used in an ink jet printing, screen printing, gravure printing or flexographic printing process, the coating prevents the printed ink from permeating the paper due to paper porosity. The image transfer from the coated paper to the object to be printed is performed by pressure and heat at a temperature between 200 C. and 230 C., wherein the coating is activated by the heat, so that the coating becomes soft and adjusts to the printing surface and is easily adhered to it. This allows a direct transfer of the sublimation ink to the contact area of the surface to be printed, which makes the coating superior to other coatings on the market.

Coated print medium

The present disclosure is drawn to a coated print medium, a method of preparing a print medium, and a printing system. The coated print medium can comprise a substrate and a coating applied to the substrate. The coating can comprise, by dry weight percent, 5 wt % to 30 wt % of a polymeric binder, 20 wt % to 50 wt % of a cationic latex, 5 wt % to 15 wt % of a multivalent cationic salt, and 1 wt % to 20 wt % of an optical brightener; and 5 wt % to 20 wt % of a cationic polyamine.

PRINTABLE RECORDING MEDIA
