Print-medium paper and method

A print-medium paper comprising a base paper (3) and at least one external or top white side (4) suitable to be printed directly, without the need of the application of a primmer or a bonding agent or external layer substance prior to/on color printing devices, comprising at least one mineral particle which preferable comprises calcium ions and more preferable is anionic ultrafine ground calcium carbonate and at least one binder. The external or top white side (4) preferable comprise a second mineral particle without calcium ions which more preferable is titanium dioxide. Packaging product comprising the print-medium paper claimed. A method for producing the print medium paper claimed. Use of the print medium claimed in a digital printer or a printer based on the use of inkjet technology heads, characterized in that a print medium is printed directly.

PRINTABLE MEDIA

A printable media comprising a supporting substrate, including fibers, having an image side and a non-image side, which contains an image receiving layer coated on the image side of the supporting substrate. The image receiving layer comprises pigment fillers, polymeric binders and ink optical density enhancement agents. Also disclosed is a method for producing the textured media.

An inkjet recording medium having an ink receiving layer containing an inorganic pigment, starch, and copolymer latex on at least one surface of a base, characterized in that the inorganic pigment contains engineered calcium carbonate and kaolin, an amount of the engineered calcium carbonate is from 50% by weight or more to less than 80% by weight and an amount of the kaolin is from 10% by weight or more to less than 50% by weight with respect to a total amount of the inorganic pigment, and from 1 parts by weight or more to 10 parts by weight or less of an organic pigment having a glass transition temperature (Tg) of 20 C. or more is contained in the ink receiving layer with respect to 100 parts by weight of the inorganic pigment.

Coated print medium

The present disclosure is drawn to a coated print medium, a method of preparing a print medium, and a printing system. The coated print medium can comprise a substrate and a coating applied to the substrate. The coating can comprise, by solids or dry weight, 5 wt % to 30 wt % of a polymeric binder, 20 wt % to 50 wt % of a cationic latex, 5 wt % to 15 wt % of a multivalent cationic salt, and 1 wt % to 20 wt % of a sulfonic acid- or sulfonate-containing stilbene optical brightener.

A processing fluid contains a water soluble cation polymer having a quaternary ammonium cation in the main chain, either of one of phosphoric acid-based inorganic salt and p-tert-butyl benzoate, and water, wherein the phosphoric acid-based inorganic salt is either of one of disodium monohydrogen phosphate, sodium dihydrogen phosphate, sodium polyphosphate, dipotassium monohydrogen phosphate, and potassium dihydrogen phosphate, wherein the water soluble cation polymer accounts for 40% by weight to 60% by weight.

COATED PRINT MEDIA

A coated print medium can include a base stock having a basis weight of 35 gsm to 250 gsm, and a coating layer applied to the base stock at from 1 gsm to 50 gsm by dry weight. The base stock can include from 65 wt % to 95 wt % cellulose fiber with 20 wt % to 100 wt % being mechanical pulp, and from 5 wt % to 35 wt % inorganic pigment filler. The coating layer can include inorganic pigment particles having an average equivalent spherical diameter from 0.2 m to 3.5 m; a fixative agent including metal salt, cationic amine polymer, quaternary ammonium salt, quaternary phosphonium salt, or mixture thereof; and a polymer blend including water soluble polymer and water dispersible polymer having a Zeta potential greater than 40 mV, wherein a weight ratio water soluble polymer to water dispersible polymer is from 1:25 to 1:1.

INKJET PRINTING METHOD AND INKJET PRINTING APPARATUS

An inkjet printing method including the steps of applying a first ink to a printing medium and applying a second ink to the printing medium so as to at least overlap a region provided with the first ink, wherein the first ink is an aqueous ink containing silver particles, the second ink is an aqueous ink containing an anionic dye, the printing medium includes an ink-receiving layer containing at least one cationic compound selected from a group consisting of a polyvalent metal salt and a salt of a cationic resin, and the content (g/m.sup.2) of the cationic compound per unit area of the ink-receiving layer is 0.20 g/m.sup.2 or more.

Printable film

A printable film that contains a base film substrate and an image receiving layer. The film substrate is a polyethylene terephthalate base film substrate that contains inorganic particles and that has an opacity ranging from about 50 to about 95. The image receiving layer comprises, at least, a polymeric network, poly-alkene polymeric compounds and inorganic compounds. Also disclosed herein is the method for obtaining the printable film.
