Transfer paper

The object is to provide a transfer paper having good image deterioration resistance, color development property and adhesion property. The object is achieved by a transfer paper for use in a transfer textile printing method using sublimation textile ink, which comprises a base paper and one or more coating layer(s) provided on at least one side of the base paper, wherein an outermost coating layer positioned on the outermost side with respect to the base paper contains at least a pigment and a binder, at least one of the pigment is amorphous silica, and the binder contains two or more different binders, and at least one of the binders is an ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer.

A direct thermal and thermal transfer label combination is provided. The label includes a substrate, and the substrate includes a thermal print coating applied to a front side of the substrate. The label also includes a liner attached to a backside of the substrate along a first side of the liner. Further, an aqueous resin-based thermal transfer coating is applied to a second side of the liner. The front side of the label is capable of being imaged through direct thermal printing while the second side of the liner represents an opposite side of the label that is capable of being imaged through thermal transfer printing.

The image recording method includes the steps of: applying a treatment liquid containing a pore forming material onto a recording medium to form a porous layer; and applying a metallic ink containing a metallic pigment onto the porous layer. A surface tension of the metallic ink at 23° C. is equal to or greater than a surface tension of the treatment liquid at 23° C. The surface tension of the metallic ink at 23° C. is 19 mN/m or more and 28 mN/m or less.

A recording method includes a step of applying a first ink to a recording medium; and a step of recording an image on the recording medium by applying a second ink so that the second ink at least partially overlaps a region to which the first ink has been applied. The first ink is an aqueous ink containing a silver particle. The second ink is an aqueous ink containing a coloring material. The recording medium has an ink receiving layer that contains a halide ion selected from the group consisting of a bromide ion and an iodide ion. The ink receiving layer has a halide ion content (mmol/m.sup.2) of 0.1 mmol/m.sup.2 or more to 0.8 mmol/m.sup.2 or less.

The method may involve providing a paper layer, respectively a foil. At least one side of the paper layer, respectively of the foil, may be coated with an inkjet receiver coating that includes at least pigment and binder. The inkjet receiver coating may include an ink reactive compound. The papers and foils may be provided with a printed pattern and used as a decor in the panels.
