Method for manufacturing thermal transfer image-receiving sheet support and method for manufacturing thermal transfer image-receiving sheet
A method for manufacturing a thermal transfer image-receiving sheet support that can be used to obtain a thermal transfer image-receiving sheet that maintains its gloss and that has excellent handleability and high condition uniformity while preventing the formation of air bubbles in an adhesive layer. A resin is supplied to one side of a substrate, which is passed between a cooling roller A and a rubber roller A. A porous film is stacked on another side of the substrate through a resin, and the substrate is passed between a cooling roller B and a rubber roller B. The cooling rollers A and B have surfaces with a ten-point average roughness (Rz) of 5 to 30 m and 0 to 20 m, respectively. The rubber rollers A and B have a rubber hardness (durometer (Type A)) of 60 to 95 and 50 to 80, respectively.
Method for inkjet printing and printed article
Inkjet printed articles can be made by providing an inkjet receiving medium comprising a substrate and a topcoat layer, and inkjet printing an aqueous pigment-based ink onto the topcoat layer. The topcoat layer has: (a) one or more water-soluble salts of a multivalent metal cation; and (b) composite particles having a Rockwell Hardness of R90 and each of the composite particles comprising domains of a (i) first organic polymer and domains of a (ii) second organic polymer. The domains of the (ii) second organic polymer are dispersed within the domains of the (i) first organic polymer. The melting point of the (i) first organic polymer is lower than the melting point of the (ii) second organic polymer. The weight ratio of the (i) first organic polymer to the (ii) second organic polymer is chosen such that the (b) composite particles have a density of 1.0-1.5 g/ml.
Printable media
A printable media comprising a supporting substrate, including fibers, having an image side and a non-image side, which contains an image receiving layer coated on the image side of the supporting substrate. The image receiving layer comprises pigment fillers, polymeric binders and ink optical density enhancement agents. Also disclosed is a method for producing the textured media.
Fabric print medium
A fabric print medium containing a fabric base substrate, a primary coating composition that includes a polymeric binder and filler particles; and an image-receiving coating composition that includes, at least, a first crosslinked polymeric network and a second crosslinked polymeric network, that is applied over the primary coating composition. The fabric base substrate includes a surface energy-controlling agent. Also disclosed are the method for making such fabric print medium and the method for producing printed images using said material.
PATTERN-TRANSFERRED OBJECT MANUFACTURING METHOD
The present invention aims to provide a method of producing a pattern-transferred product with simple steps, the method being capable of producing a pattern-transferred product having good adhesion between a transferred pattern and the transfer-receiving body. The method of producing a pattern-transferred product of the present invention includes a step of forming a transfer pattern on a dissociation layer of a transfer sheet including at least a porous layer on a support and the dissociation layer on the porous layer; a transferring step, the step being selected from a step of transferring the transfer pattern to a transfer-receiving body having an adhesive surface or a step of transferring the transfer pattern to a transfer-receiving body via an adhesive material; and a step of removing adhesion from the surface of the transfer-receiving body or from the adhesive material.
PLASTIC MATERIAL FOR PRINTING BY DYE DIFFUSION THERMAL TRANSFER PRINTING
A plastic material is useful as an ink receiver or printing medium in dye diffusion thermal transfer printing, wherein the plastic material has a polyamide component (a), and a (co)-polyamide (b) based on ether units and amide units. This plastic material can be used to make a layered structure. The layered structure can be used in dye diffusion thermal transfer printing. A security and/or valuable document with the layered structure can be obtained. Based on the finding that the (co)-polyamide (b) offers sufficient absorbency for the printing ink, the layer produced from the plastic material can be printed on by means of dye diffusion thermal transfer printing with a good color intensity.
Printable recording media
A printable recording media that comprises a base substrate with an image-side and a back-side and a coating composition comprising, at least, particles of metallic salt of C.sub.8-C.sub.30 alkyl acid chain or alkyl ester chain having a mean particle size (D.sub.50) above 3 m and having about 99.5% of the particle size distribution which is less than 80 m, inorganic pigment particles and/or mixture inorganic particles, and polymeric binders and/or mixture of polymeric binders, is applied to the image-side of the base substrate. Also described herein are a method for forming the printable recording media and a printing method that includes ejecting an ink composition onto the print media described herein.
FABRIC PRINTABLE MEDIUM
A fabric printable medium includes a fabric base substrate including yarn strands and voids among the yarn strands; a finishing coating attached to the yarn strands of the fabric base substrate to form coated yarn strands; and pore spaces among the coated yarn strands and coinciding with at least some of the voids of the fabric base substrate. The finishing coating includes a crosslinked polymeric network. The fabric printable medium further includes a fire retardant coating applied to aback-side of the coated yarn strands.
Inkjet receiving media
An inkjet receiving medium having enhanced surface properties has a substrate and a topcoat layer disposed thereon. The topcoat layer has: (a) one or more water-soluble salts of a multivalent metal cation; and (b) composite particles having a Rockwell Hardness of less than or equal to R90 and each of the composite particles comprising domains of a (i) first organic polymer and domains of a (ii) second organic polymer.
