Printable overlaminate for attachment to a substrate
A printable overlaminate for attachment to a substrate permits application of decorative and/or informative printing on materials that normally are not receptive to ordinary inks. The overlaminate has a release liner releasably attached to a protective layer. On the protective layer is an ink acceptable adhesive, the exposed surface of which receives ordinary ink. After printing the ink acceptable layer is transferred to a substrate through the use of heat and pressure. Then the release liner is removed, leaving the ink visible through the protective layer.
TEXTILE PRINTING PAPER FOR USE IN PAPER PRINTING METHOD
Provided is a textile printing paper for use in a paper printing method, which textile printing paper has an ability to produce a high-resolution image and enables favorable color development on a printing substrate and is excellent in adhesiveness of a printed paper to a printing substrate. The textile printing paper has a base sheet and a glue layer on a surface of the base sheet, the base sheet having a compression layer on at least a glue layer side, the compression layer at least comprising a pigment and a binder, wherein the base sheet has a compression ratio of 1.5 or more as calculated by the formula given below from the smoothness measured using a soft backing at clamp air supply pressures of 300 kPa and 2000 kPa according to JIS P 8151:2004.
Compression ratio=[smoothness of base sheet at 300 kPa]/[smoothness of base sheet at 2000 kPa]

Thermal sublimation paper, method for the production thereof and use thereof
The invention relates to a thermal sublimation paper which can be printed with inks containing a sublimatable dye, in particular ink-jet inks, in which paper a hydrophilic thermal transfer layer to be printed is formed on a porous base paper. Thermoplastic particles with an average particle size of between 0.3 and 5 m and a melting point of between 35 C. and 190 C. are present in the thermal transfer layer. This thermal sublimation paper can be advantageously produced as follows: an aqueous coating slip is applied to a porous base paper having a Cobb value of between 55 and 150 g/m.sup.2, in particular between 70 and 150 g/m.sup.2, in a paper-making or coating machine, online or offline, said aqueous coating slip containing thermoplastic particles and constituents suitable for forming a hydrophilic thermal transfer layer, and a drying step is subsequently carried out in order to obtain the thermal sublimation paper. The thermal sublimation paper can be used advantageously to print flat materials, in particular films and textiles.
