Ink jet composition and recorded matter
An ink jet composition of the invention is discharged by an ink jet method and includes: metal powder; an organic solvent; and a resin having a styrene-maleic acid structure as a binder resin, in which the ink jet composition contains metal powder surface-treated with a fluorine-based compound as the metal powder.
Method for inkjet printing and printed article
Inkjet printed articles can be made by providing an inkjet receiving medium comprising a substrate and a topcoat layer, and inkjet printing an aqueous pigment-based ink onto the topcoat layer. The topcoat layer has: (a) one or more water-soluble salts of a multivalent metal cation; and (b) composite particles having a Rockwell Hardness of R90 and each of the composite particles comprising domains of a (i) first organic polymer and domains of a (ii) second organic polymer. The domains of the (ii) second organic polymer are dispersed within the domains of the (i) first organic polymer. The melting point of the (i) first organic polymer is lower than the melting point of the (ii) second organic polymer. The weight ratio of the (i) first organic polymer to the (ii) second organic polymer is chosen such that the (b) composite particles have a density of 1.0-1.5 g/ml.
Printable media
A printable media comprising a supporting substrate, including fibers, having an image side and a non-image side, which contains an image receiving layer coated on the image side of the supporting substrate. The image receiving layer comprises pigment fillers, polymeric binders and ink optical density enhancement agents. Also disclosed is a method for producing the textured media.
Printing paper
A printing paper having a base paper and an outermost coating layer is provided, and satisfies at least one of the following characteristics (I), (II) and (III): (I) when an aqueous solution having a surface tension of 20 mN/m is dropped on the side having the outermost coating layer of the printing paper, a contact angle between the droplet and the outermost coating layer is 40 or more and 65 or less; (II) for the side having the outermost coating layer of the printing paper, a transfer amount of an aqueous solution having a surface tension of 20 mN/m at a contact time of 1 second as determined by the Bristow method is 5.0 ml/m.sup.2 or more and 12.0 ml/m.sup.2 or less; and (III) on the surface of the outermost coating layer of the printing paper, a maximum peak value of specular reflection light quantity of a point image is 2,000 or more and 30,000 or less.
Inkjet receiving media
An inkjet receiving medium having enhanced surface properties has a substrate and a topcoat layer disposed thereon. The topcoat layer has: (a) one or more water-soluble salts of a multivalent metal cation; and (b) composite particles having a Rockwell Hardness of less than or equal to R90 and each of the composite particles comprising domains of a (i) first organic polymer and domains of a (ii) second organic polymer. The domains of the (ii) second organic polymer are dispersed within the domains of the (i) first organic polymer. The melting point of the (i) first organic polymer is lower than the melting point of the (ii) second organic polymer. The weight ratio of the (i) first organic polymer to the (ii) second organic polymer is chosen such that the (b) composite particles have a density of 1.0-1.5 g/ml.
THERMAL TRANSFER IMAGE-RECEIVING SHEET
[Problem] To provide a thermal transfer image-receiving sheet that makes it possible to produce an image-printed item having high smoothness.
[Solution] In a first embodiment of the present invention, a thermal transfer image-receiving sheet is characterized by comprising a receiving layer, a first resin layer, a paper substrate, and a second resin layer in this order, wherein the paper substrate has a thickness of 95 m or more and 135 m or less, the first resin layer has a weight of 20 g/m.sup.2 or more and 60 g/m.sup.2 or less, the second resin layer has a weight of 19 g/m.sup.2 or more and 35 g/m.sup.2 or less.
RESIN-DISPERSED LIQUID FOR DYE-RECEPTOR LAYER
A resin dispersion for dye receiving layer of a thermal transfer image-receiving sheet, including a polyester resin particle and an aqueous medium. The polyester resin particle includes a polyester resin that is a polycondensate of an alcohol component including at least one of a propylene oxide adduct of 2,2-bis(4-hydroxyphenyl)propane and an ethylene oxide adduct of 2,2-bis(4-hydroxyphenyl)propane, and a carboxylic acid component including an aliphatic dicarboxylic acid compound having a carbon number of 6 or more and 10 or less. A molar ratio of the propylene oxide adduct of 2,2-bis(4-hydroxyphenyl)propane to the ethylene oxide adduct of 2,2-bis(4-hydroxyphenyl)propane in the alcohol component is 0/100 or more and 40/60 or less. A molar ratio of the ethylene oxide adduct of 2,2-bis(4-hydroxyphenyl)propane to the aliphatic dicarboxylic acid compound having a carbon number of 6 or more and 10 or less is 2.1 or more and 15 or less.
Method for providing inkjet receiving media
Inkjet receiving medium are prepared by disposing an aqueous composition onto at least one surface of a substrate to provide a topcoat layer. The aqueous composition has: (a) one or more water-soluble salts of a multivalent metal cation; and (b) composite particles having a Rockwell Hardness of less than or equal to R90 and each of the composite particles comprising domains of a (i) first organic polymer and domains of a (ii) second organic polymer. The domains of the (ii) second organic polymer are dispersed within the domains of the (i) first organic polymer. The melting point of the (i) first organic polymer is lower than the melting point of the (ii) second organic polymer. The weight ratio of the (i) first organic polymer to the (ii) second organic polymer is chosen such that the (b) composite particles have a density of 1.0-1.5 g/ml.
RECORDING PAPER AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING SAME
Provided are a recording paper having not only excellent appearance and high adhesion between a substrate and a resin coating but also high adhesion, particularly, high water resistant adhesion to ink or toner in various printing systems and a method for producing the recording paper. The recording paper of the present invention includes: a substrate composed of a thermoplastic resin film; and a resin coating disposed on at least one side of the substrate, wherein the resin coating contains a resin that is a reaction product of a cationic water-soluble polymer and a silane coupling agent, a content of a silane coupling agent component is 15 to 35 mass % based on a cationic water-soluble polymer component in the resin coating, and the resin coating is free from thermoplastic resin particles.
PRINTING PAPER
A printing paper having a base paper, and one or more coating layer(s) arranged on at least one surface of the base paper, wherein; in the coating layer(s), an outermost coating layer positioned on the outermost side with respect to the base paper contains at least a pigment, a binder, a lubricant, a dispersant and a cationic resin, wherein the pigment in the outermost coating layer contains kaolin and calcium carbonate, a content of the kaolin and the calcium carbonate is 80 parts by mass or more based on 100 parts by mass of the pigment in the outermost coating layer, and a mass content ratio of the kaolin to the calcium carbonate in the outermost coating layer is 1:9 to 6:4, and the printing paper satisfies at least one of the following characteristics (I), (II) and (III): (I) when an aqueous solution having a surface tension of 20 mN/m is dropped on the side having the outermost coating layer of the printing paper, a contact angle between the droplet and the outermost coating layer is 40 or more and 65 or less; (II) for the side having the outermost coating layer of the printing paper, a transfer amount of an aqueous solution having a surface tension of 20 mN/m at a contact time of 1 second as determined by the Bristow method is 5.0 ml/m.sup.2 or more and 12.0 ml/m.sup.2 or less; and (III) on the surface of the outermost coating layer of the printing paper, a maximum peak value of specular reflection light quantity of a point image is 2,000 or more and 30,000 or less.
