A greeting card having mechanically actuated moving portions is provided. The greeting card may include a panel having one or more folds, one or more flexible drive shafts coupled to the panel and having a flipping or moving portion, and a decorative portion coupled to at least one of the panel and the flipping or moving portion. Each flexible drive shaft may be coupled to the panel such that a portion is positioned on a first side of the fold and a portion is positioned on a second side of the fold. When the greeting card is opened, a moment arm is created in the flexible drive shaft which causes the flipping or moving portion to move from a first position to a second position. The decorative portion may move in response to the flipping or moving portion moving from the first position to the second position.

Greeting card with actionable aperture

A greeting card is provided that includes, for example, two fold lines that define a first panel, a second panel, and a third panel, where each of those panels include front and back surfaces. The second panel includes a void. The back surface of the first panel includes an actionable unique identifier such that when the greeting card is folded along the fold lines the actionable unique identifier is visible through the void. The actionable unique identifier is usable to retrieve a digital presentation.

A three-dimensional (3D) pop-up display is provided. The 3D display comprises a folding panel formed of a paper substrate, and a power source. The folding panel comprises an interior surface with a pop-up element integral therewith. The pop-up element is located about a hinge of the folding panel and configured to form a 3D graphic about the hinge upon opening the folding panel. The pop-up element also comprises an electrical device printed or placed thereon. The electrical device includes at least one of a light source or a speaker. The power source is contained between the interior surface of the folding panel and the pop-up element and configured to power the electrical device.

A tri-fold card of the present invention has such a shape that the tri-fold card can be unfolded to the state in which three cards are lined up adjacent to each other, and has a tangent line or a boundary between the middle one of three cards and each of the cards at both ends of the card. The lined-up cards are bonded to a plastic film mount. The tri-fold card is folded from an unfolded state to a folded state. In folding, the tri-fold card is mountain-folded at each tangent line or each boundary. As necessary, a pattern or characters is/are printed on one or both sides of the cards.
