The invention concerns a 3D pop-up card having a foldable base card which has an inner side and an outer side, the base card being foldable along a fold and being reversibly transferable from a folded, closed state to an unfolded, open state, wherein a foldable figure is fixed to the inner side of the base card and the foldable figure unfolds autonomously into a three-dimensional structure when the base card is transferred into an open state, wherein the base card is double-layered, the layer which is on the inside in the closed state having at least one slit on each of the two sides of the fold the base card and the foldable figure being connected to one another via L-shaped connecting pieces, and the first leg of an L-shaped connecting piece engaging in a slit and the second leg of an L-shaped connecting piece being attached to the foldable figure.

A card is provided that includes, for example, a fold that defines a first panel and a second panel, where each of those panels includes front and back surfaces. The second panel includes a void. The back surface of the first panel includes an actionable unique identifier such that when the greeting card is folded along the fold lines the actionable unique identifier is visible through the void. The actionable unique identifier is usable to retrieve a digital presentation among other things.

An article comprising a pop-up card is provided. The article comprises a single sheet of paper including a single crease and separating the sheet of paper into a left panel and a right panel, wherein the sheet is in a closed position when folded along the crease, and wherein the sheet is in the open position when not folded along the crease, a pop-up slice-form element coupled to said sheet, wherein the slice-form includes a first plurality of slice-form elements perpendicular to a second plurality of slice-form elements when in the open position, wherein the slice-form element comprises a first and last slice-form element each with a distal tab, and wherein in the open position the pop-up slice-form element is displayed as a three-dimensional configuration, and in the closed position said pop-up slice-form element folds together into a flat configuration.

The interactive greeting card of the present invention combines a greeting card with IR sensor to trigger effects upon the greeting card recipient interacting with the IR sensor. The greeting card contains a hole, opening or aperture therethrough, into which a user may insert his or her finger to trigger one or more special effects such as audio replay, motorized movement of one or more mobile objects attached to the greeting card, or other special effects.

An integral greeting card/game is disclosed wherein a multi-panel greeting card also serves as a game board and is combined with a game piece and launch mechanism to create a novel, interactive greeting card. The multi-panel greeting card contains a sound module therein and a magnetic trigger is contained and concealed below one or more of the multiple greeting card panels. The game piece contains a magnet therein so that when the game piece comes into contact with the area of the greeting card above or proximate to the magnetic trigger, playback of an audio file is initiated. In one embodiment, the game piece is operative to interact with a touch screen of a mobile device.

A method of creating a personalized greeting card including providing a paperboard template having a plurality of notches defining hinges and distinctive panels hinged from a central card portion; designing a customized greeting having user defined text and graphics using a computer interface; printing the customized greeting onto the paperboard template; and folding the distinctive panels onto the central card portion enclosing the customized greeting.

An apparatus that is convertible between a social expression, such as a wedding invitation, and a decorative item, such as a votive candle holder. As a social expression, the apparatus is a flat, metal sheet which includes information pertaining to a social event that can be placed in an envelope and mailed to a recipient. Once the recipient receives the social expressions piece and the information regarding the social event is conveyed, the recipient can convert the social expression into a decorative item by folding along one or more folding lines. By converting the social expression into a decorative item, the apparatus has a greatly extended life.
