Embedded variable line patterns
A system is capable of generating identifications that include distinctive line patterns corresponding to different portions of secure customer information. In some implementations, data indicating one or more linear patterns and data indicating customer information to be embedded within an identification document is obtained. Respective subsets of the customer information are assigned to each of the one or more linear patterns. A photographic image to be included within the identification document is then modified based at least on generating a portion of the photographic image that is composed of at least one of the one or more linear patterns. The modified photographic image is then disposed on an identification document to yield embedded customer information.

SELF-DIRECTED ACCESS CARD ISSUANCE SYSTEM
An access card issuance system comprising an access card issuance device located at a facility of an organization and a web server is disclosed. The access card issuance system provides a web interface in response to a request from a mobile device, and receives user information identifying a user of the mobile device. The system is also configured to validate the identity of an authorized individual associated with the facility identified by a user of the mobile device, and issue an access card to the user of the mobile device. The access card has indicia printed thereon identifying at least a portion of the user information, and programmable information encoded onto the access card providing access rights to the facility. The system further transmits, to the authorized individual, a message associated with issuance of the access card.

Optical security elements with opaque masks for enhanced lens-to-printed pixel alignment
Products, such as branding labels and currency, fabricated to include an optical security element. The optical security assembly may include a carrier film or substrate. An image element, e.g., a printed ink layer, is provided on a first surface of the carrier film/substrate, and the optical security assembly further includes an array or plurality of micro lenses on a second surface of the carrier film/substrate opposite the image element. In order to make the registration and print requirements easier, a mask is provided between the printed ink layer to define color pixels, and the printed ink layer is provided in the form of color blocks in a checkboard pattern with each block aligned with a portion of the mask and a subset of the holes or openings that define the viewable color pixels.

CARD HAVING METALLIC CORE LAYER AND SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR CARD MANUFACTURING
A card manufacturing system includes a locating device and a separation device. A laminate sheet comprising a plurality of cards is received by the locating device and is imaged using first and second imaging modalities. The first imaging modality identifies a location of each of the plurality of information carrying cards within the laminate sheet and the second imaging modality images at least one graphic formed on a surface of the laminate sheet. A position of the at least one graphic with respect to at least one information carrying card is determined and the plurality of cards are removed from the laminate sheet using information corresponding to the location of each of the plurality of information carrying cards when the position of the at least one graphic with respect to the information carrying cards is within a predetermined range.
Method of fabricating electronic cards including at least one printed pattern
The invention relates to a method for fabricating electronic cards by A) forming a plurality of card bodies in the form of a thick sheet with a plurality of electronic units or modules embedded in the sheet; B) printing a plurality of first patterns on a first face of the thick sheet in a printing station where ink is applied on the first face; C) applying a first at least partially transparent coating on each printed first pattern, that adheres to the card body. The method can also include printing a plurality of second patterns on the inner surface of a film forming the first coating. Preferably, the printing of the first patterns is carried out in an offset type station for printing high definition patterns, essentially of the security type. The second patterns define personal data. The printed thick sheet defines an intermediate product according to the invention.
