LAYER TRANSFER DEVICE

A layer transfer device includes a supply reel, a take-up reel, a driving source, a releasable restraining device, a heating roller, a pressure roller, and a controller. The driving source drives the take-up reel. The releasable restraining device is capable of switching to a restraining state in which a multilayer film is put under restraint in being drawn out from the supply reel and to a release state in which the restraint is lifted. The controller is configured such that when the driving source is generating the mechanical power, the releasable restraining device is in the restraining state if an image area in which an image is formed on the sheet is not present in a layer transfer position between the heating roller and the pressure roller, and the releasable restraining device is in the release state if the image area is present in the layer transfer position.

Dye sublimation ink composition and processes for use with stamp pads

Provided are processes of applying a decorative imaging to a substrate that includes providing a stamp pad comprising a child and environmentally friendly disperse dye composition, inking a stamp with the disperse dye composition, optionally transferring the disperse dye composition from the stamp to an intermediate ink receptive surface using the rubber stamp to thereby place an image on an intermediate ink receptive surface, and transferring the image to a dye receptive object by application of sufficient heat and pressure. The disperse dye compositions provided herein are safe, environmentally friendly, and able to be used in stamp pad imaging processes.

Process for transferring microstructures to a final substrate

A process for transferring microstructures to a flexible or rigid final substrate that offers advantages in both speed and precision is provided. The inventive process involves subjecting a transfer film in a continuous roll-to-roll process to the following operations: either forming microstructures on, or transferring microstructures to a surface of the transfer film; and then transferring the microstructures from the transfer film onto a surface of the final substrate. The microstructures are single or multi-layer structures that are made up of: voids in a substantially planar surface, the voids optionally filled or coated with another material; raised areas in a substantially planar surface; or combinations thereof.

Thermal transfer apparatus

A thermal transfer apparatus includes a fixture, a foil securing film, a film retainer, a foil transfer tool, and a carriage conveyor. The fixture retains a transfer object. The foil securing film is disposed above the fixture. The foil securing film allows light to pass therethrough. The foil securing film presses, from above, a thermal transfer foil on the transfer object so as to secure the thermal transfer foil onto the transfer object. The film retainer retains the foil securing film. The film retainer moves the foil securing film in an up-down direction relative to the fixture. The foil transfer tool presses the foil securing film and the thermal transfer foil on the transfer object. The foil transfer tool emits light to the foil securing film. The carriage conveyor moves the foil transfer tool relative to the fixture.

METHOD FOR PRODUCING A DECORATED MOLDED PART
20210001524 · 2021-01-07 ·

A method for producing a decorated molded part, a decorated molded part, as well as the use of a transfer film for producing a decorated molded part includes:

Producing an intermediate product in the form of a composite body by applying a transfer ply of a transfer film to a first surface of a polypropylene film, wherein the transfer ply of the transfer film has at least one decorative layer. Forming the composite body having the polymer film with applied transfer ply of the transfer film. Inserting the formed composite body into an injection mold and back injection molding and/or overmolding and/or insert molding the formed composite body with a plastic material, containing or consisting of polypropylene. Optionally, the back injection-molded and/or overmolded and/or insert-molded formed composite body is coated, in a step, over the whole surface or over part of the surface with one or more primer layers and/or one or more varnish layers.

Products and devices are described for displaying a visible marker on a screen. Density patterns create the visible marker. The present disclosure also describes methods for manufacturing or displaying the visible marker on the screen.

Manufacturing method for decorated object

A manufacturing method for a decorated object is provided. In this manufacturing method, a foil is attached to a medium to obtain the decorated object. The manufacturing method includes: a foil layer forming step of attaching the foil to an adhesive layer formed on the medium, so as to form a foil layer in a manner that the adhesive layer is partly exposed; and an ink layer forming step of applying an ink to the foil layer on which the adhesive layer is partly exposed, so as to form an ink layer in a manner that the ink contacts an exposed part of the adhesive layer.

MICROSPHERE ARTICLES AND TRANSFER ARTICLES

There is provided an article comprising at least a first surface having: (a) a first binder layer; (b) a plurality of transparent microspheres partially embedded in the first binder layer such that about 20% to about 70% of the average diameter of the transparent microspheres is exposed at the outermost surface of the article, wherein the transparent microspheres have refractive indices that are less than a refractive index of the first binder layer and wherein the plurality of transparent microspheres consist of microspheres having a refractive index of no more than 1.490. There is also provided a transfer article comprising: (a) a transfer carrier, the transfer carrier comprising: (i) a support layer; and (ii) a thermoplastic release layer bonded to the support layer; (b) a layer of a plurality of transparent microspheres, formed on a side of the thermoplastic transparent microsphere release layer opposite the support layer, wherein the plurality of transparent microspheres consist of microspheres having a refractive index of no more than 1.490.

Method and device for transferring a decorating segment of an embossing film

A method for transferring a decorative section of a stamping foil onto a substrate by means of an embossing die, wherein the stamping foil includes a carrier film and a transfer ply arranged on the carrier film. The method includes: a) Provision of the stamping foil; b) Embossing or pressing of at least one compression section spaced apart from the edge of the decorative section, into the transfer ply; c) Stamping of the decorative section onto the substrate; d) Detachment of the residual stamping film from the substrate embossed with the decorative section.

Decals with dimensional offsets

Decals with dimensional offsets are disclosed. The decals may be part of a decal kit or may be applied to an article. The decals include an overlay having multiple dimensional spacers. When applied to an article, the decal overlay bonds to the article, securing the dimensional spacers between the overlay and the article creating dimensional offsets. The dimensional offsets are positioned on an interior surface of the article so that contact with a wearer's skin is minimized, reducing the perception of cling.
