COMPOSITE WHEEL ASSEMBLY AND METHOD OF CONSTRUCTION THEREOF
A composite wheel assembly and method of construction thereof is provided. The composite wheel assembly includes a lightweight annular aluminum barrel having an inner surface and an outer surface configured to support a tire thereon. A lightweight metal central hub assembly is fixed to the barrel. The metal central hub assembly includes a central hub portion and plurality of support spokes extending outwardly from the central hub portion to free ends, wherein the free ends are fixed to the inner surface of the aluminum barrel. A wheel cladding contrasting in at least one of material type, color, texture and surface finish to an outwardly facing surface the central hub assembly is fixed to the outwardly facing surface of the central hub assembly.
TIRE NOISE REDUCTION DEVICE
A tire noise reduction apparatus may include a housing mounted on an external circumferential surface of a wheel rim on which a tire is mounted, the housing having an internal space and being open at one side in a circumferential direction of the wheel rim, wherein the housing includes a neck at an opposite side which is opposite to the open one side; and a movable member inserted into the internal space of the housing through the open one side of the housing and having an internal space in fluidical communication with the internal space of the housing, the movable member being mounted to the housing to be movable in a direction in which the movable member is inserted into the internal space of the housing and in a direction in which the movable member is withdrawn out of the housing.
Vehicle wheel trim
A vehicle wheel trim is provided which includes a disc (1) and provisions for fastening the disc (1) to a wheel of a vehicle. The provisions for fastening the disc (1) to the wheel include a plurality of magnets (2) that can be fastened to screws (7) that fasten the wheel to the vehicle. Each of the magnets (2) is placed on the inside of a housing (3) and is associated with a fastening element (4, 4b, 4c, 4d) for fastening the magnet (2) to said housing (3).
Reinforced composite hybrid wheel construction
A method and system for improving the strength, functionality and wear-resistance of a composite hybrid wheel is disclosed. Each spoke may define an airfoil shape and have a secondary wing-like extension attached thereto to generate airflow past the vehicle brakes during vehicle operation. Alternatively, the spokes may be shaped in cross-section as either an I-beam or an H-beam configuration. Customer-interchangeable wheel inserts formed from a reinforced polymerized material, such as a long carbon fiber reinforced composite, are strategically attached to one or more of the spokes. The inserts are used to enhance the aesthetic appeal of the wheel, increase its structural integrity and provide easy interchangeability in the event of damage. A faux bead composite lock ring also formed of a reinforced polymerized material such as a long carbon fiber reinforced composite can be attached to the wheel spokes to cover the composite rim flange.
TIRE LOCK APPARATUS AND METHOD
A method of citing a parking violation includes locating a removable locking device around a wheel of the vehicle. The locking device is located to permit the mobility of the vehicle but act as a nuisance when in motion. A driver is permitted to settle the infraction through multiple ways wherein the driver pays a fee for the infraction and a core fee for the locking device. The core fee may be refunded upon successful return of the locking device to a collection unit. The act of ticketing and securing the vehicle are done in a concurrent set of steps.
HEAT PROTECTION DEVICE FOR A WHEEL ELECTRONICS UNIT ON A RIM OF A WHEEL OF A VEHICLE
A heat protection device for a wheel electronics unit on a rim of a wheel of a vehicle, having a main body with a fastening portion for fastening to the wheel electronics unit, and at least one heat protection portion for thermally insulating the wheel electronics unit in the fastened position.
Clad-Style Vehicle Wheel Including a Variable Height Rim
In one aspect of the present disclosure, a vehicle wheel is disclosed that includes a cover and a backbone. The cover includes recessed portions and non-recessed portions defining inner surfaces that are spaced about a periphery of the cover, and the backbone defines at least one first support that is configured and positioned for contact with the inner surfaces defined by the recessed portions and at least one second support that is configured and positioned for contact with the inner surfaces defined by the non-recessed portions.
Aircraft wheel hub cap attachment flange stress relieving pockets
An outboard wheel half has an axis and includes an outboard wheel structure configured to receive at least a portion of a tire. The outboard wheel half also includes a structure defining an alignment hole usable to align a hubcap relative to the structure. The structure defines a pocket circumferentially aligned with the alignment hole to reduce an amount of stress at a location of the alignment hole.
WHEELS FOR NON-MOTORIZED VEHICLES
A wheel for a non-motorized vehicle (e.g., a shopping cart) can include a housing assembly and a tread assembly. The housing assembly can be configured to sealingly house electronics or other components. The tread assembly can removably mate with the housing assembly such that the electronics or other components remain closed and/or sealed within the housing assembly when the tread assembly is mated or unmated with the housing assembly.
TRIM PART WITH LOCKING SLIDE ON A MOTOR VEHICLE RIM
Decorative trim panel on a motor vehicle rim (1), consisting of at least one plate-shaped trim part (9, 10) which at least partially covers the visible side of the motor vehicle rim (1) and which can be settleable in a load-transmitting manner to the spokes (2, 3) and/or to the rim ring (6) of the rim (1) by means of counter holding and/or latching means (14, 74, 75), wherein the counter holding means on the trim part side are formed from at least one latching foot (14) which is integrally formed on the surface of the trim part (9, 10), a hook head (107) integrally formed thereon, and in that the latching foot (14) is part of a latching connection (74) on the trim part (9, 10), the bending of which is effected by a locking slide (91, 101) which is formed to be displaceable and lockable in a latching gap (72) of the latching connection (74) and selectively consolidates or releases the latching connection (74) and therby bends or returns the latching foot (14) towards the rim side.
