TIRE RETAINING FEATURE FOR A BICYCLE RIM
A rim assembly for a bicycle wheel includes a rim, a first protruding tire retaining feature attached to a first surface of the rim, and a second protruding tire retaining feature attached to a second surface of the rim. The first surface is a surface of a first tire retaining wall of a radially outer tire engaging portion of the rim, and the second surface is a surface of a second tire retaining wall of the radially outer tire engaging portion. The second surface faces the first surface. The first protruding tire retaining feature and the second protruding tire retaining feature are made of a first material, and the first tire retaining wall and the second tire retaining wall are made of a second material. The second material is different than the first material.
WHEEL FOR A SUPPORT STRUCTURE
A wheel assembly includes a mounting plate for attachment to a rotatable axle, a plurality of elongate friction members for engaging a tire assembly, a plurality of first angular flanges extending radially outward and circumferentially in a first direction from the mounting plate, and a plurality of second angular flanges extending radially outward and circumferentially in a second direction, opposite the first direction, from the mounting plate. Each elongate friction member is disposed axially between one of the first angular flanges and one of the second angular flanges.
Bicycle rim for tubeless tire
Bicycle rims that allow tires to be more easily mounted in a tubeless configuration are disclosed. More specifically, a bicycle rim may control the two beads of the tire with separate bead channels for each bead and a center bridge extending between the two bead channels.
RIM, RIM COMPONENT AND RIM ASSEMBLY FOR A BICYCLE WHEEL AND METHODS OF MANUFACTURE THEREOF
A rim assembly for a bicycle wheel is disclosed. The rim assembly comprises: a rim configured to receive a rim component in an external surface thereof, and; a rim component located in the external surface of the rim, wherein the rim component forms part of the external surface of the rim, and wherein; the rim component has a lower density than the rim. A rim, insertable rim component and methods of manufacturing such a rim assembly are also disclosed.
Wheel and rim with inner flange having strip weight reduction sockets
A rim with an inner flange having strip weight reduction sockets and a wheel are provided. The rim includes the inner flange, a middle portion and an outer flange which are all annular and are connected end to end to form an annular rim, in which trapezoidal weight reduction sockets are provided on the inner wall of the inner flange; the bottom edges of the weight reduction sockets are flush with the edge of the inner flange; the top edge of each weight reduction socket has fillets; and the weight reduction sockets have a bottom edge length of 5-30 mm, a height of 15-60 mm, a top edge length of 5-15 mm, a base angle of 72-83, and a depth of 1-5 mm.
Vehicle wheel with cooling apparatus
An integrally formed wheel for cooling a brake assembly of a vehicle, comprising a barrel for mounting a tire thereon, a center disc, and a plurality of spokes. The barrel extends from an outboard face to an inboard rim edge and defines a chamber radially inside the barrel. The chamber is located adjacent a brake mechanism when the wheel is on a vehicle. The center disc has a center bore and a plurality of lug holes. A plurality of spokes interconnects the center disc to the barrel. A plurality of cooling passageways is integrally formed with the barrel, the spokes and the center disc. The plurality of passageways is disposed circumferentially around the spokes and extend from the outboard face to a location inside the barrel to direct air into the chamber through the passageways when the wheel is in rotation.
WHEEL RIM WITH REDUCED-HEIGHT RIM FLANGE
A rim (3) for a rolling assembly has a flexible extender, the rim having an axis of rotation DD, said rim having a rim seat (31) extended axially towards the outside by a rim flange (32), said rim flange (32) having a first portion (321) that is oriented substantially in a plane perpendicular to the axis of rotation DD and situated radially on the outside with respect to said rim seat (31), said first portion (321) being extended radially and axially towards the outside by a connecting portion, characterized in that the radial height measured between the intersection point between the line of the rim seat and the line of the first portion, and the end of the radially outermost portion of the rim flange (32) is less than 10 mm.
Bicycle rim for tubeless tire
Bicycle rims that allow tires to be more easily mounted in a tubeless configuration are disclosed. More specifically, a bicycle rim may control the two beads of the tire with separate bead channels for each bead and a center bridge extending between the two bead channels.
Single Piece Heavy Duty Wheel
A wheel rim including a flange profile on a tire side of an open end flange of the wheel rim, the flange profile defined by the equation:
