HEDGE TRIMMER AND SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR BLADE ASSEMBLY

A hedge trimmer and a tool assembly for assembling a blade assembly are provided. The hedge trimmer includes a housing at which a motor is disposed. The blade assembly extends from the housing and includes a blade component forming a blade opening through which a fastener is extendable. A retainer forms a retainer opening through which the fastener is extendable. A second spine opening at a spine extends from a first spine opening at the spine. The second spine opening forms a narrower cross section relative to the first spine opening. The fastener is extendable into the second spine opening from the first spine opening. The retainer is positioned between the spine and the blade component.

WORK TOOL DRIVE UNIT FOR A CUTTING BLADE OF A HANDHELD WORK APPARATUS, AND HANDHELD WORK APPARATUS HAVING THE WORK TOOL DRIVE UNIT

A work tool drive unit for a cutting blade of a handheld work apparatus includes an electric motor configured to rotate a drive pinion, a gearbox, a planetary gear arranged in the gearbox, with a single ring gear, a single planetary carrier and planets driven by the drive pinion, an eccentric shaft driven by the planetary gear and is configured to drive at least one cutting tool. The planets each have a first peripheral section and a second peripheral section. The first peripheral section is in engagement exclusively with the drive pinion, and the second peripheral section is in engagement exclusively with the ring gear. The work tool drive unit has an oscillating weight which is connected fixedly to the drive pinion for conjoint rotation.

A hand-held drive apparatus comprises an apparatus main body including a pruner and a handle rotatably connected to the apparatus main body and including a rotation lock mechanism and a drive operation mechanism. The rotation lock mechanism includes a rotation lock lever movable to a rotation prevention position where the handle is prevented from rotating, and to a rotation allowance position where the handle is allowed to rotate. The drive operation mechanism includes a switch configured to control activation of the pruner and a throttle lever movable to a contact position where the throttle lever pushes the switch and to a non-contact position where the throttle lever is separated from the switch. The throttle lever contacts the rotation lock lever at the rotation allowance position to maintain the non-contact position, and is, when the rotation lock lever is at the rotation prevention position, allowed to move to the contact position.

HEDGE TRIMMER

An outdoor power tool and methods of operating outdoor power tools are provided. An outdoor power tool includes a first blade extending from a first end to a second end, a second blade extending from the first end to the second end, a first connecting rod coupled to the first blade at the first end and comprising a first length, a second connecting rod coupled to the second blade at the first end and comprising a second length different from the first length, and a crankshaft coupled to the first connecting rod and the second connecting rod. The crankshaft is configured for transmitting reciprocating motion to the first blade, the second blade, or both the first blade and the second blade in a first direction and a second direction. The second direction is opposite the first direction.
