Edger with shielding assembly
An edger has a main frame that can be advanced controllably relative to subjacent terrain and a cutting assembly on the main frame. A drive rotates the cutting assembly around a first axis. The cutting assembly is configured to produce a trench in underlying terrain as the cutting assembly is rotated by the drive in operation. The cutting assembly has a perimeter edge with a contour extending over an axial distance. A shielding assembly defines a radially inwardly facing surface that resides radially outside of the perimeter edge of the cutting assembly. The radially inwardly facing surface has a shape that is at least nominally matched to the contour of an axial extent of the perimeter edge of the cutting assembly so that as the cutting assembly rotates the radially inwardly facing surface and perimeter edge of the cutting assembly cooperate to each avoid buildup of foreign matter on the other.
POWER MODULATING MOTOR CONTROL METHOD
A electric power tool, comprising a control system electrically coupled to a power supply and a motor to supply current to the motor, where the motor may be coupled to a driven element of a tool so as to drive the driven element. The control system may have a continuous power mode and a boost power mode to supply current to the motor at a greater amount than in continuous power mode, and may be configured to switch between the continuous power mode and the boost power mode based upon a sensed load on the electric motor. In some embodiments, the control system may switch to a cutback power mode to supply current to the motor at a lower amount than in continuous power mode is the load does not decrease before a predetermined time elapses.
Edging tools for work machines
One embodiment is a work machine including a frame extending along a length, a width and a height. Front and rear ground contacting wheels are rotatably coupled with the frame. A linkage is coupled with the frame and a tool mount coupled with the linkage. A suspension element accommodates movement of the tool mount in response to external force. An actuator system is structured to move the tool mount through translation and/or rotation. An edging tool assembly is coupled with the tool mount and includes a ground working implement.
Dual reciprocating blade landscape saw with enhanced durability and performance
A dual reciprocating blade landscape saw is operably connected to a rotatable shaft of an input device. The landscape saw includes a worm assembly having a lower housing and a worm disposed therein, the worm operably connected to the rotatable shaft of the input device and having a spiral thread, a worm gear assembly having an upper housing and a worm gear disposed therein, the worm gear having a disk comprising a cutout and a plurality of outer teeth engaged with the spiral thread of the worm, and a pair of blades coupled to opposing sides of the worm gear. The rotatable shaft of the input device drives the worm of the worm assembly. Rotational motion of the worm transfers to the worm gear to permit the pair of blades coupled thereon to move linearly in a reciprocating sequence.
BATTERY POWERED HANDHELD OUTDOOR POWER EQUIPMENT
A handheld edger includes an electric powerhead coupled to a mounting location, a member, and a cutting assembly. The electric powerhead includes a motor having an output shaft rotating at a first speed about an output shaft axis and a battery configured to power the motor. The member extends from the mounting location and includes an upper portion and a lower portion, the lower portion configured to be removable and replaceable to exchange one or more attachments. The cutting assembly coupled to the member includes a drive shaft, a blade coupled to and driven by the drive shaft, and a worm drive coupled to the output shaft of the motor and the drive shaft, the worm drive configured to cause the drive shaft to rotate the blade at a second speed. A gear ratio of the worm drive is larger than 40:1.
Apparatus configured to act as both an edger and a sod cutter
Described herein is a combination apparatus and methods of using the combination apparatus. The combination apparatus is operable as both an edger and a sod cutter. The combination apparatus includes an arm that oscillates when driven by a motor. Both a sod cutter blade and an edger blade are coupled to the arm.
PROCESSING IMPLEMENT
A processing device (10), in particular a gardening and/or household implement, comprising a handling device (20) with a gripping portion (30) and a connecting portion (40), and further comprising an electrical power supply (45) and a tool (50) which can be detachably connected to the handling device (20) by means of the connecting portion (40), wherein the tool (50) is an electrical or non-electrical tool and the connecting portion (40) has means by which both the electrical and alternatively the non-electrical tool (50) can be connected to the handling device (20), and to a handling device (20) and a connecting portion (40) for such an implement and use thereof.
Shield and attachment for weed trimming
A removable shield for a string trimmer with trimmer head for cutting tall grass or weed is a flexible shield having a first end and a second end with a length extending therebetween; a removable shield closure for securing the first end of the shield to the second end; one or more fasteners configured for coupling the shield to the string trimmer at one or more locations on the shield. The shield forms a perimeter ring having a height and an interior space when the shield closure secures the first end of the shield to the second end of the shield and wherein when installed on the string trimmer, the trimmer head is within an interior space of the perimeter ring when the shield is installed on the trimmer head.
Trimmer head with anti-fouling mechanism
A grass and weed trimmer head is provided having a trimmer head body wherein the outside surface has a dome-like contour with the drive shaft of the trimmer centrally fixed to the top of the dome. The bottom of the body is a circular opening having an inside diameter large enough to accommodate the outside diameter of a rotatable bottom plate so as to allow sufficient clearance to permit free rotation of the bottom plate while providing insufficient clearance for debris to enter the clearance. The rotatable bottom plate is disposed in a manner so as to redirect cutting debris away from the crevasses in the trimmer. The dome-like contour encourages the redirection of the cutting debris outwards and away from the central shaft thereby significantly reducing the propensity of wrapping and clumping around the central shaft. Easy removal of the cutting strings aids disentanglement of cuttings from the trimmer.
Handheld lawn maintenance tool
A handheld lawn maintenance tool having a power head to which an adapter is attachable to allow both battery-powered and gasoline-powered working attachments to be attached thereto. The power head includes a power source, integrated first and second handles, a power generator, and a first attachment mechanism to which the adapter and/or working attachments are attachable.
