SPOKED BICYCLE WHEEL AND SPOKE ATTACHMENT ELEMENT FOR SUCH A WHEEL
A spoke tension adjustment tool has a longitudinally elongated body with a central longitudinal cavity configured to house an end portion of a spoke. The housing has a longitudinal slit that allows the end portion of the spoke to enter the longitudinal cavity. The longitudinally elongated body has a grip portion and a shaped end portion configured to couple with a stem of a spoke attachment element. The shaped end portion is smaller than the grip portion and smaller than the diameter of a rim spoke attachment hole in which the stem is inserted.
Composite wheel construction apparatus and method
A composite wheel structure includes a single continuous fiber reinforcement layer extending axially between inner and outer ends of the wheel structure. The single fiber reinforcement layer is impregnated with different matrix materials at different axial portions of the reinforcement layer to account for specific locations where high strength or high temperature performance is needed, with other portions having different matrix materials where low temperature performance and/or low strength is sufficient. The matrix materials may be provided as separate resin films that are applied side-by-side on the single reinforcement layer, or they may be provided on a single resin film. The matrix materials may be applied to the reinforcement layer in a direct coating process. The reinforcement layer may be prepregged with the matrix materials prior to a wheel layup process, or the reinforcement layer and matrix materials may be consolidated by resin film infusion during the wheel layup process.
Method of Assembling a Bicycle Rim, Bicycle Rim
The present invention relates to a method of assembling a rim, in particular a bicycle rim of composite material. The invention further relates to a rim obtainable by such a method.
Fiber-composite ventilation flap for a vehicle and wheel for a vehicle
A fiber-composite ventilation flap for a vehicle is made of a laminate formed by at least two individual tiers. At least one of the individual tiers has respective unidirectionally oriented fibers, and wherein the at least two individual tiers are arranged in the laminate in such a way that the fibers thereof are oriented at least predominantly differently to one another. The fibers of the at least two individual tiers are oriented differently to one another in such a way that at least one region of the fiber-composite ventilation flap curves about a predefined primary axis under the influence of heat and is thereby in an open state.
Spoked bicycle wheel and spoke attachment element for such a wheel
A spoked bicycle wheel having a rim at least partially comprised of a composite material. The rim has at least one spoke attachment chamber with a plurality of spoke attachment holes. The wheel has a plurality of spokes coupled with the rim and a spoke attachment element partially inserted in a respective spoke attachment hole. The wheel includes a holding element that prevents the movement of said spoke attachment element along a radially outer direction. The spoke attachment element has a holding surface configured for abutment against the holding element.
Wheel bearing unit
A hybrid connection element, in particular a bearing outer element of a wheel bearing, includes a core part made of steel and a reinforcement part made of plastic. The reinforcement part at least partially encases the core part. The core part includes a hollow cylindrical bearing unit extending in an axial direction and a flange extending in a radial direction. The reinforcement part includes at least one reinforcement rib which transmits force between the bearing unit and the flange of the core part.
BICYCLE WHEEL RIM AND PROCESS FOR MANUFACTURING THE SAME
A composite bicycle rim, and a process for manufacturing the rim, having a plurality of perforated spoke-attachment seats having spaced apart first and second areas of cut structural fibers. The second area has both end portions of cut structural fibers having a longitudinal dimension greater than the first area's cut structural fibers and continuous structural fibers. At least some of the end portions of the second area's cut structural fibers are mutually juxtaposed or interposed with respect to the second area's continuous structural fibers.
Vehicle Rim with Turned-Over NCF Subpreforms at the Ends and Method for the production Thereof
The invention refers to a vehicle rim (1) with a rim body (2) made of fiber composite material, comprising a first subpreform (3) at a first axial end and a third subpreform (5) at the opposite second axial end, wherein a second subpreform (4) is arranged between the first subpreform (3) and the third subpreform (5), wherein the second subpreform (3) engages into a front connecting cavity (6) formed by the first subpreform (3) as well as also into a rear connecting cavity (7) being formed by the third subpreform (5). The invention also refers to a method for the production of a vehicle rim (1) with a rim body (2) made of fiber composite material, wherein an NCF material (19) comprising carbon fibers, glass fibers and/or aramid fibers is created respectively for the formation of a first subpreform (3) for a first axial end of the rim body (2) and of a third subpreform (5) for the opposite axial end of the rim body (2) with a connecting cavity (6, 7), respectively, wherein a second subpreform (4) made of a same or a similar NCF material (19) is inserted into the connecting cavity (6 and/or 7) and is fixed thereat.
Bicycle wheel rim and relative manufacturing process
A bicycle wheel rim made at least partially of a stratified composite material comprising structural fibers incorporated in a polymeric matrix. At least one opening, which passes through at least one first layer of composite material, is provided and at least one spoke attachment hole, which passes through at least one second layer of composite material, is also provided. The spoke attachment hole is completely contained within the opening in the first layer. A related manufacturing process is also described.
BICYCLE RIM MADE OF COMPOSITE MATERIAL WITH WINGS HAVING REINFORCED STRUCTURE
A bicycle rim is made with a plurality of layered, each of which is formed of structural fibres incorporated in a polymeric material. The rim has a radially outer peripheral channel with an upper bridge extending between the wings for holding a tyre. The peripheral channel comprises an inner layered structure, extending between wings and at least one wrapping layered structure, wound on the inner layered structure at least at the end of the wings, the inner layered structure and the wrapping layered structure being included in the plurality of layered structures.
