Brush cuttier blade
20180345507 · 2018-12-06 ·

Living in the Northwest it is nearly impossible to own land and not wage war against invasive blackberries and brush. While attempting to fight this battle with a regular single blade trimmer attachment, it dawned on me that the real trouble is that a single cut only detaches the plant from its base, but leaves it suspended in neighboring brush. My invention with its multiple planes of bladelets turns the brush immediately to mulch for easy raking or to leave as mulch.

A pruner is provided including a pruning mechanism including a pruning blade on a tip side, a pole connected to a base side of the pruning mechanism, and a hook mechanism including a hook that projects to a lateral side substantially orthogonal to a central axis of the pole and that is displaceable in a range from a first position where an end portion is away from the central axis to a second position where the end portion is close to the central axis. The hook is configured to keep the first position when first external force in a direction from the base side toward the tip side is applied, and be displaced from the first position to the second position when second external force in a direction from the tip side toward the base side and/or a direction from the lateral side toward the central axis is applied.

Ferrules for pole and tool extension

A ferrule system includes: a first ferrule comprising a proximal end for engaging a first implement and a threaded portion opposite the proximal end; and a second ferrule comprising a distal portion for engaging a second implement, a proximal portion opposite the distal portion and comprising teeth, a threaded portion intermediate the distal portion and proximal portion and configured to engage the threaded portion of the first ferrule. Teeth are mounted on the first ferrule and are biased to automatically engage the teeth of the proximal portion of the second ferrule as the threaded portion of the first ferrule engages the threaded portion of the second ferrule such that only tightening rotation of the second ferrule relative to the first ferrule is permitted when the teeth mounted on the first ferrule are automatically engaged with the teeth of the proximal portion of the second ferrule.
