A method of citing a parking violation includes locating a removable locking device around a wheel of the vehicle. The locking device is located to permit the mobility of the vehicle but act as a nuisance when in motion. A driver is permitted to settle the infraction through multiple ways wherein the driver pays a fee for the infraction and a core fee for the locking device. The core fee may be refunded upon successful return of the locking device to a collection unit. The act of ticketing and securing the vehicle are done in a concurrent set of steps.

BRAKE BEAM WEAR GUIDE

Various embodiments provided a railroad car brake beam wear guide for mounting in a brake beam guide bracket of a railroad car truck side frame and including a spacer that partially defines a slide-way for a brake beam lug of a brake beam and that limits lateral movement of the brake beam. In various embodiments, the wear guide can be employed for other uses besides for railroad cars.

ROTATION INDICATOR DEVICE
20200016926 · 2020-01-16 ·

There is provided a rotation indicator device for mounting onto a polygonal fastener, such as a wheel nut. The device comprises a body having a bore. A pair of tapered regions, which are formed of a resilient material, extend around a periphery the bore, each of the regions being resiliently deformable to, in use, securely and releasably mount the body onto the polygonal fastener such that a rotation of the device relative to the polygonal fastener is inhibited. The device may be used as a safety device to indicate the rotation, i.e. loosening, of the polygonal fastener.

Threaded fastener locking system

Fasteners such as bolts or nuts are locked by a ring and associated keys. The ring typically has a series of holes with the fasteners passing through these holes in the ring. The ring has an outer surface with studs extending upward therefrom. Typically one key for each fastener is placed adjacent to the ring after the fasteners are tightened against the ring in each hole of the ring. The key has a head opening which fits over a head of the fastener and keeps the fastener from rotating. The key also has a bore which fits upon the stud, with the stud preventing key rotation, and the key in turn preventing fastener rotation. A retainer such as a lock nut on a threaded stud or a snap ring in a grooved stud hold the key to the ring and keep the ring in position locking the fasteners.

Wheel end monitoring apparatus, fastener, and method

In one aspect, a wheel end monitoring apparatus comprising a wheel hub configured to receive a wheel rim and be clamped therewith. The wheel end monitoring apparatus further includes a power source, at least one sensor, and communication circuitry that are rotatable with the wheel hub. The at least one sensor is configured to detect at least one property of the clamped wheel hub and the wheel rim. The at least one property is indicative of the clamping of the clamped wheel hub and the wheel rim. The communication circuitry is configured to wirelessly communicate data associated with the at least one property to an external device.

A system continuously monitors bearing temperature and wheel surface condition. The system may include a button contact sensor for sensing wheel bearing temperature and a measuring laser for detecting wheel breakage. The system may also include a vibration sensor, sound sensor, and a load sensor. Each sensor is in communication with a receiver/transmitter and may be mounted to the railcar by way of a friction lock magnetic mounting. Computer means may be used to store, analyze, and present the collected information for use in deciding whether, for example, the train should be slowed or stopped. A solar panel may provide power to the components.

[Problem]

Related to a caster structure in which a sign groove for indicating a tire replacement timing of a caster including a wheel braked by a brake shoe is provided.

[Solution]

A caster structure in which a mark groove is provided in a tire of a wheel of a caster in which rotation of the wheel is braked by pressing a brake shoe onto the tire, characterized in that the mark groove in which a groove bottom portion is set to a predetermined depth is provided in an outer peripheral surface of the tire annularly along an outer periphery of the tire, and projecting portions for alarm each having an upper surface connecting right and left side walls forming the groove and closing the groove are provided in plural at predetermined intervals along an extending direction of the mark groove at a middle position of the depth between the groove bottom portion and a groove opening portion in the mark groove.
