A nipple for spoked wheels of the tubeless type comprises a first and a second shoulder which are formed on a rod with a blind axial hole which is internally threaded at an end of the rod which is distal from the opening of the axial hole and in a zone of the rod which is proximal with respect to the opening, respectively. A first recess for a sealing ring is formed on the rod behind the first shoulder and at least a second recess for a second sealing ring is formed on the rod between the first recess and the second shoulder.
ARTICLE MOVEMENT SYSTEMS, BALL WHEELS AND RELATED APPARATUS AND METHODS
An article movement system includes an article and at least one ball wheel. The article has first and second article surfaces meeting at a first article edge. The ball wheel is located along the first article edge and includes a ball, a bearing arrangement and a shell. The ball engages a surface underlying the article, the bearing arrangement supports the ball for omni-directional rotational movement, and the shell is located along the first article edge and contains the ball and the bearing arrangement. The shell defines a non-circular ball opening through which a portion of the ball extends to contact the underlying surface. The article, the bearing arrangement and the shell are configured such that the ball wheel is able to support the article for omni-directional rolling motion over the underlying surface with either of the first and article surfaces parallel thereto, and at any orientation therebetween.

A rolling-element bearing unit for a wheel bearing assembly of a vehicle includes a first rolling-element bearing having an outer bearing ring and an inner bearing ring and rolling elements disposed between the outer bearing ring and the inner bearing ring and a first seal element having a seal-element base body having a first support member mounted to an axial outer surface of the inner bearing ring and a first seal lip pressed against a radial end surface of the outer bearing ring to hold the outer bearing ring in position relative to the inner bearing ring. Also a wheel bearing assembly including two such rolling element bearing units.
All-terrain load transport system
An all-terrain load transport system including a cylindrical first base member and at least three pairs of arms is provided. A handle is removably attached to an attachment member disposed on the cylindrical first base member. The cylindrical first base member defines a space for receiving at least one piece of accessory equipment. Each pair of the three pairs of arms defines a wheel support assembly at an end of each pair distal from an outer periphery of the cylindrical first base member. The three pairs of arms are detachably attached to the outer periphery of the cylindrical first base member. The wheel support assembly includes a cylindrical second base member defining a space for receiving a spherical wheel. The spherical wheel moves omnidirectionally within the defined space. Roller bearings positioned along an inner periphery of the cylindrical second base member facilitate the omnidirectional movement of the spherical wheel.
SEALING DEVICE FOR A HUB/WHEEL ASSEMBLY AND HUB/WHEEL ASSEMBLY HAVING SUCH A SEALING DEVICE
A sealing device for a hub/wheel assembly with a roller bearing. The sealing device includes a guard, made of plastic. The guard is coupled to an outer ring of the bearing to seal off the bearing. The guard has a cylindrical mounting wall with an outer lateral surface coupled to an inner lateral surface of a collar of the outer ring, and a snap-engagement step for engaging with the collar made along the outer lateral surface so that it snap-fits in a contoured annular groove made along the collar about the axis. An annular gasket is made of elastomer and co-injection-molded inside an annular groove made in the cylindrical mounting wall on the same side as the snap-engagement step.
SEALING DEVICE FOR A HUB/WHEEL ASSEMBLY AND HUB/WHEEL ASSEMBLY HAVING SUCH A SEALING DEVICE
A sealing device for a hub/wheel assembly with a roller bearing, the sealing device comprising a guard, made of plastic, which is coupled to an outer ring of the bearing so as to seal off the bearing, and which has a cylindrical mounting wall having an outer lateral surface coupled to an inner lateral surface of a collar of the outer ring. The sealing device includes a snap-engagement tooth for engaging with the collar made along the outer lateral surface so that the snap-engagement tooth snap-fits in a contoured annular groove made along the collar about the axis and an annular gasket made of thermoplastic elastomer being co-injection-molded inside a gripping seat made in the cylindrical mounting wall on the same side as the snap-engagement tooth, substantially at a corner defined between the cylindrical mounting wall and an annular reading wall transverse to the cylindrical mounting wall.

Low-friction sealing assembly for a vehicle wheel-hub unit inserted inside an annular interspace defined between a flanged rotating element and a stationary element, coaxial with each other, of the wheel-hub unit to protect at least one ring of revolving bodies arranged between the stationary element and the rotating element, and having a first annular screen and a second annular screen during use integral with the rotating element and with the stationary element; and an annular seal having lips that extend axially and radially projecting from the first screen towards the second screen inside an annular chamber defined by the first and second screens; the sealing assembly being a multi-stage sealing assembly provided with a first inner collecting stage designed to collect and expel some of the contaminants.
HALF SHAFT TO BEARING CONNECTION TO REDUCE DRIVELINE CLICK
The present disclosure includes a vehicle drive assembly including a wheel bearing and a half shaft. The wheel bearing defines a receptacle including internal splines. A bearing face of the wheel bearing defines an opening to the receptacle. The half shaft includes a joint housing and a stem extending from the joint housing. The stem is configured to be seated within the receptacle of the wheel bearing. The stem includes a splined portion, a shoulder, and a stop surface. The splined portion includes a plurality of external splines configured to mesh with the internal splines. The shoulder is between the splined portion and the joint housing. The shoulder has a maximum outer diameter that is greater than a minor diameter of the internal splines of the wheel bearing. A stop surface is between the splined portion and the shoulder, the stop surface configured to contact ends of the internal splines of the wheel bearing to stop the joint housing from moving into contact with the bearing face.
DRIVE DEVICE
A drive device for driving and rotating a wheel includes an axle shaft, a hub to which rotation of the axle shaft is conveyed, a plurality of fasteners for securing the wheel to the hub, a wet brake, a housing, an oil seal, and a cover. The wet brake is configured to restrain the rotation of the axle shaft. The housing accommodates the axle shaft and the wet brake. The oil seal is disposed between the housing and a part of the hub that is disposed inward of the fasteners in a radial direction of the hub. The cover has an annular shape. The cover is disposed in a space formed between the hub and the housing, and is secured to the housing. The cover is configured to cover the plurality of fasteners.
WHEEL BEARING UNIT
The invention relates to a wheel bearing unit including a wheel hub. The wheel hub has an integrally formed wheel flange at one end and an inner ring which can be rotated together with the wheel hub. The inner ring is secured on the wheel hub by a rolling rivet connection in order to pretension a row of rolling elements relative to an outer ring. The wheel bearing unit also has an encoder, which is provided on the inner ring and extends radially in the direction of the outer ring, and a protective cover which is secured to the outer ring in order to close and seal annular openings that are formed between the outer ring and the wheel hub. A cylindrical mounting section of the protective cover is pressed into a cylindrical press-in portion of the outer ring, and a shielding section extends from the cylindrical assembly portion inwards in a radial direction (R1). A base section is provided which adjoins the shielding section in order to cover an inner-side end of the wheel hub, and a sealing element is provided on a circumferential surface, which faces away from the outer ring, of the cylindrical assembly portion. The sealing element is formed such that a part of the sealing element protrudes from the mounting section in the axial direction (R2) in order to form a sealing lip which is pressed axially onto a section of the outer ring in order to sealingly rest against this section.
