Elastomer Composition for an Insert for Supporting a Wheel Tyre, Insert Comprising the Composition and Mounted Assembly Incorporating the Insert
The invention concerns an elastomer composition for a self-supporting insert (1) intended to support a tyre of a wheel of a vehicle, an insert of which at least one layer (3) comprises said composition and a mounted assembly incorporating said insert. The invention applies to a non-pneumatic mounted assembly, in particular for a vehicle with two wheels, in which each of the tyres is permanently supported by said insert, The elastomer composition comprises, principally by mass, a mixture of at least one first thermoplastic elastomer and at least one second thermoplastic elastomer, and said composition is such that said at least one first thermoplastic elastomer is a copolyamide (COPA) and said at least one second thermoplastic elastomer is a thermoplastic styrene (TPS) elastomer.
Polyurethane gauge wheel tire
A disclosed example embodiment of a gauge wheel tire includes a first polyurethane sidewall portion, a second polyurethane sidewall portion, a polyurethane ground-engaging portion, and a polyurethane axial support portion. The first polyurethane sidewall portion is spaced apart from the second polyurethane sidewall portion, and the polyurethane ground-engaging portion extends from the first polyurethane sidewall portion to the second polyurethane sidewall portion and is adapted to contact a ground surface as the gauge wheel tire rotates about an axis of rotation. The polyurethane axial support portion extends from the first polyurethane sidewall portion to the second polyurethane sidewall portion, and is spaced apart from the polyurethane ground-engaging portion to form a gap that allows radial movement of the polyurethane ground-engaging portion relative to the polyurethane axial support portion.
VEHICLE WHEEL ASSEMBLY COMPRISING A NON-PNEUMATIC TIRE
The invention relates to a vehicle wheel assembly, comprising 1) a wheel rim having two opposed circular rim flanges; 2) an outer tire having two beads secured at the circular rim flanges; 3) a non-pneumatic inner tire comprising expanded thermoplastic polyurethane (E-TPU), which inner tire is enclosed by the outer tire and the wheel rim; characterized in that the inner tire in the assembly is in a compressed state S1, which state is compressed as compared to a relaxed state S2 when the inner tire is not enclosed by the outer tire, the compression being such that the cross-sectional surface area SA of the inner tire, which area is perpendicular to the plane of the tire, is smaller in state S1 than in state S2.
Simulated inflatable wheel and stroller comprising same
The present invention provides a simulated inflatable wheel including a rim, a filler tire mounted on the rim, and a tire casing covering the filler tire and having a rolling portion in rolling contact with the external environment and an abutting portion extending from two sides of the rolling portion. The abutting portion is located between the rim and the filler tire. The abutting portion abuts against the rim and the filler tire respectively. A recessed portion is formed on at least one position of an outer surface of the filler tire. The present invention utilizes the recessed portion of the filler tire to generate space between the filler tire and the rim (or the tire casing), for providing a buffer when the filler tire is deformed and improving elasticity of the filler tire. The present invention further provides a stroller including the simulated inflatable wheel.
