Provided is a pneumatic tire which prevents accumulation of static electricity during travelling, which inhibits the tire from rising in an electric resistance with the passage of time, and which is reduced in a rolling resistance of the tire and excellent in durability thereof. In the pneumatic tire described above, a conductive rubber is arranged for a ply coating rubber of one surface, and a non-conductive rubber is arranged for the ply coating rubber of the other surface; assuming that the respective thicknesses thereof are T1 and T2, a carcass ply has a ply in which T1/T2 satisfies 0.2T1/T20.9; and the conductive ply coating rubber is arranged at a tread side, and the non-conductive ply coating rubber is arranged at an inner liner side.

An electronic component covered by rubber sheets is arranged on a tire outer surface side of a carcass ply in a region between a tire-radial direction outside end of a bead filler and a tire-width direction outside end of a steel belt. The rubber sheets include a first rubber sheet arranged on a tire inner cavity side of the electronic component, and a second rubber sheet arranged on a tire outer surface side of the electronic component; and the second rubber sheet is configured from a rubber sheet which is more difficult to deform than the first rubber sheet.

Tire comprising a carcass reinforcement made up of two layers

Each of at least two layers of a carcass reinforcement has a breaking force per unit width higher than 2250 daN/dm. The minimum strength per unit width, measured for an elongation of less than 10%, of a second layer of carcass reinforcement is strictly greater than a value equal to 20% of the minimum strength per unit width, measured for an elongation of less than 10%, of a first layer of carcass reinforcement. The reinforcing elements of the two layers of carcass reinforcement have a thread count of less than 750 tex. The elongation of the reinforcing elements of the second layer of carcass reinforcement is greater than 4% under a force of 20 daN, and the secant elastic modulus values under tension at 10% elongation, Mt, Mj, satisfy the relationship Mt/Mj1.
