A reinforced bicycle tyre
The present invention relates to a bicycle tyre (1) comprising a tyre carcass (10) defining a tyre interior space (20) for the inflation fluid and having opposite sidewalls (11, 12) and central wall (13) connecting the sidewalls (11, 12), the sidewalls (11, 12) defining a tyre base (40) configured for fastening to a bicycle rim; a tread (60) externally covering at least the central wall (13) of the tyre carcass (10); one or more ripstop fabrics (70) applied in the tyre carcass (10).
REDUCED WEIGHT TIRE
Disclosed are various examples of a tire having a shoulder region between the tread and the sidewall which includes a region of interest disposed between a radially innermost lateral edge of the belt package and a radially outermost lateral edge of the belt package. In the tire, a first ratio between a thickness of the outer layer of rubber in the region of interest and a total thickness of rubber in the region of interest is in a range of 0.37 to 0.73. The tire also has a second ratio between the thickness of the outer layer of rubber in the region of interest and a thickness of the cushion beneath the tread is in a range of 1.4 to 3.1. Also, in one example, at least a first carcass ply of the tire wraps 270 degrees or less around a bead core.
Tire
A tire can include beads, a carcass, sidewall layers, a tread, a belt, and a band. A carcass ply of the carcass can include a ply body and a pair of turned-up portions. An end of each turned-up portion can be located axially inward of an end of the belt. A ratio of a thickness from the carcass to an outer surface of the tire along a first normal line to a thickness from the carcass to the outer surface of the tire along a second normal line can be not less than 1 and not greater than 2.
